CHAPTER TEN

ғʟᴀsʜʙᴀᴄᴋ ᴛᴏ ғᴏᴜʀᴛᴇᴇɴ ʏᴇᴀʀs ᴀɢᴏ

It was a sunny day when the house party took place. The invited started to join at the mansion from midday. The whole mansion adorned with lights and flowers. Kids, playing here and there, made the place turn into heaven with their innocence. In a moment, a man approached in the ballroom with a little girl

"Hello, Mrs Soo Mi, How are you?" He addressed a woman who was busy with her guest.

"Ah, Mr Lee Eun Jun, long time no see."

"Yeah, kinda busy there."

"Thank you for coming."

"It's my pleasure."

"Oh my, Is she your daughter? She's so cute, Hi, What's your name dear?"

Eun Jun gestured his daughter for greeting who seemed little surprised with a stare full of hesitation.

"Hello...I am Eun Ji..."

"Aww, Eun Ji, you've given your daughter a really nice name." Mrs Soo Mi glanced back at her father and then back to Eun Ji.

"Eun Ji, Are you feeling lonely? Wanna be with me?"

Little Eun Ji gazed back her father with fear and found her father nodding with acceptance. But still had an unknown fear.

"Umm, Okay"

"Are you sure, Eun Ji? Come with me, little girl, we'll play together." Mrs Soo Mi smiled back.

Do adults play with kids...Eun Ji seemed little confused with her own question but she felt little peace and relief being with Mrs Soo Mi. Her little brain didn't know the reason. After getting abandoned by her mom, she became a loner. All she had her father who didn't seem to consider Eun Ji's happiness ever rather force her what he wanted to be. But Mrs Soo Mi's motherly affection made little Eun Ji feel at ease.

"Come with me Eun Ji, I'll introduce you to my son."

"Umm...okay"

Soo Mi asked Mrs Lorna, their housekeeper, for escorting Hoseok to her. Little Hoseok and his best friend Namjoon was playing along with other kids in the garden.

"Master Hoseok, you're being called by your mom." Mrs Lorna told him with a smiling face. Little Hosoek nodded and started to run to her mom.

"Omma...Did you call me?"

"Yeah, but you can go now, dear." his mom replied him with a confused face.

"Why? What happened?

"We had a pretty little guest with whom I just wanted to introduce with you, but..."

"But...What?"

"Her father came and took her with him, but she didn't wanna go."

Soo Mi was looking at the way where Eun Ji and her dad had left. Her pretty face with light blushed cheek worn the puzzlement of the sudden matter. She wasn't ready for this and the little girl seemed really helpless to her. She knew a bit about the matter of the separation of Eun Ji's parents, so she just wanted to make her a bit happier. But what happened all of a sudden!

Little Hoseok was still standing there, didn't realize anything except the confusion of his mom. The ballroom contained huge windows on both sides, from which the whole mansion could be watched just standing there. One of them caught his sight. A man was leaving the mansion holding a little girl's hand. He was just staring at them. Meanwhile, his dad came to his mom.
"Soo Mi, Can you please come with me for a while, I have to talk with you." Hoseok's dad said to her with low voice but both Hoseok and his mom felt the hardness in there.
"Why? Anything happened, dear? Mr Eun Jun has just left. Have you guys met?." She asked.

"Yes, so many bad things happened, and you're responsible for each of those."

"Why? What--what have I done?..."

"Can you just please come with me, you're wasting my time."

"O-Okay"

Both of them left the placed while Hoseok was still standing there and observed everything but still didn't make out anything. After a while, his mom came back. Hoseok approached her and wrapped her with his little hand, "Mom, what happened, Are you okay?" His mom just squats down to him, brushed his soft, smooth hair and hugged him back, "Nothing, my baby boy." Hoseok could feel the warmth and wetness of her cheek, her eyes looked so reddish. Seemed like someone made her cry. But Hoseok didn't ask her anything. The house party really went well to everybody but no one couldn't form out the sorrow that Mrs Soo Mi hid with her fake smile.
