Woojin followed the older into a room that was towards the back of the house. Jihoon walked in and took off his shirt, starting to remove the bandages.

"The first aid stuff is under the bed," Jihoon said as he pointed to his wooden bed frame that sat in the corner of the room.

The younger walked towards the bed and grabbed the box that laid under it. He pulled a roll of bandages and some rubbing alcohol out of the box. He was slightly startled when he turned around to see the older standing right in front of him. Jihoon looked at Woojin awkwardly and grabbed the supplies from the youngers hands. He did his best to disinfect himself but failed miserably.

"Let me help," Woojin said as the older dropped the bandages for the seventh time.

Woojin walked over to the latter and grabbed the bandage. He once again fixed up Jihoon's wound. Still only half-dressed, Jihoon push Woojin onto the bed. He then used the cotton ball that was soaked with rubbing alcohol to clean the youngers scrapes and bruises.

"Uh-"

"Shush, you helped me so ill help you. And relax 'i don't like you, I just don't like seeing people hurt'" Jihoon said, emphasizing on the last part and staring at the latter. The boys chuckled.

"Why were Daniel and Jaehwan running after you anyway?" Jihoon asked, pulling out another box from under his bed.

"They kind of pissed me off, so I walked to the park they were gonna meet up at and I hit them both," the younger replied, scanning over the new defects in his skin.

"What did they do to piss you off?" Jihoon's curiosity grabbed hold of him.

Woojin handed Jihoon his phone. On the screen was messages from a group chat between Daniel, Jaehwan, and Woojin.

11:59pm

@damndaniel
Woojin-ah, Jaehwan was
talking to me about that
Jihoon kid and some
things he saw.

@w00j1n
And what did he tell you?

@damndaniel
He told me that the kid
had other scars on his
chest. Do you know what
happened to him?

@w00j1n
No, I don't know what happened. Look at you, caring about another human being.

@jjaehwann
I told Daniel that I think kid used to self-harm. Or get beat by his parents. Either
way, he deserved whatever
the fuck left those scars there.

@w00j1n
How?

@damndaniel
Cause he's fucking annoying.
He prances around like he's so
smart, that gay little fuck.
He definitely deserved what
you guys did to him, and whatever
left those scars on him.

"So yeah, after that was when I went to the park near Daniel's house. I started talking to them about what they said and we began to argue. Long story short, they ended up beating me up and I was only able to land a punch to Daniel's eyebrow and Jaehwan's cheek. I was able to get away, so I ran to my house and that's when you found me," Woojin said as he hung his head and shook it.

Jihoon felt another panic attack coming on. He rubbed the scars on his chest, avoiding the newest mark left by Jaehwan. He started to cry, ignoring the fact that the younger was still sitting inches from him. He was remembering the reasons the scars were there. They came from years of abuse. Not from Jihoon's now long-gone father, but from his alcohol addicted mother. He thought about every night when his mother would come home and make him not want to breathe ever again. She would come home from her shitty bartender job with at least one bottle of alcohol in her grasp. If it was a good day, the boy would on have to clean up the broken glass of shattered alcohol bottles once.

One bad day, in particular, stood out in Jihoon's memory.

The boy's mother had broken plates, cups, mirrors, pretty much anything made out of glass. She completely lost it. Jihoon was so scared and attempted to leave that night, but his mother stopped him. She made him clean up the glass in nothing but his boxers. He recalled his wicked mother's words "Hey piece of shit, put your back into it" she said before kicking Jihoon's back, causing glass shards to impale his mid-section after falling. Jihoon watched as his mother laughed at him bleeding. He then walked to his room after cleaning up the remaining glass, blood almost pouring from his midsection. He laid on his bed crying, not wanting to get up and remove the glass from his body.

Jihoon was pulled out of his memory when he felt arms around him. He looked up, tears clouding his vision, to see Park Woojin holding him in a quite awkward embrace with the younger's arms around his waist. Woojin chuckled at the warmness of the older and hugged him a little tighter.

"Oh shit," Jihoon said as he noticed the time. Woojin looked up without letting go of Jihoon.

"Huh?" Woojin asked.

"Its 5:00am, look at the sunrise." the older replied as he broke from the other's grasp and opened the curtains in front of his window. They sat and watched the sun come up, Jihoon slung his arm over Woojin's shoulders. Suddenly, a flash of light was admitted from outside the window. They both looked away from the window and rubbed their eyes. The two boys looked back to see absolutely nothing.

"What the hell-" Jihoon began to mumble as the front door opened. They both looked towards the closed door of Jihoon's room with their mouths hanging open. Woojin slid into Jihoon's closet while the other put his shirt on and crawled into bed. The older knew it was his mother since practically no one else had entered his house in 10 years. He heard the footsteps coming closer to his room.

"Jiiiho-on," his mother said as she entered his room and walked towards his bed. "wake u-up sweeeet-t-tie."

She was beyond plastered drunk and Jihoon knew it would not be good. He turned around and pretended that he had just woken up.

"Oh, hi Mom. How was work and your night?" the boy looked at the clock and then shot his gaze to the floor, avoiding eye contact with his mother.

"It was-as good sweetie," she said sitting on his bed. "but I missed my little Ji-iho-oon."

She ran her hand up Jihoon's leg until she stopped at his mid-thigh. The younger physically cringed and got out of his bed, barely escaping his mother's grasp.

"Mom, you look very tired, why don't you go to sleep? Here I'll bring you to your bed." Jihoon walked his mother to her room and laid her down. He finally sighed and returned to his room, sitting on his bed. He heard the closet door opened and saw Woojin standing there in awe.

"Shit I forgot you were in there. We should probably leave soon, she won't stay asleep for long." the older said as he walked to his desk, put on his jacket, and grabbed his wallet. He handed Woojin his phone. Jihoon walked towards his window and opened it and stuck one of his legs out.

"And where exactly are we gonna go at 5:23am?" Woojin asked as he walked toward Jihoon's bedroom window and climbed out after the older.

"Your house, duh."
