"God, Anni, you're so lucky. Will you please stop sulking and appreciate your fate? I would die to be in your position!"

"I know right, so would I!"

As Annika's friends kept on swooning about her so called fate, Annika rolled her eyes and walked on. Her friends were crazy but she knew better than to be happy about something so ridiculous. What was wrong with them, anyway? Here she was stuck with having to take extra maths lessons (MATHS, of all subjects!) and instead of showing sympathy, they were too busy dreaming over the person who would be teaching her the said subect. Or to put it in other words, who would be her tormentor. Groaning in frustration at their never ending comments on how she was so lucky and all that, she stopped mid-way in the school corridor and turned to face them, hands on hips.

"What is wrong with you guys?" She asked with a scowl. "Here I am, with extra hours of maths on my head, and you think I'm lucky? Talk about stupidity!"

Looking at her in disbelief, one of her best friends, Chanda, came forward and shook Annika by the shoulders.

"Annika, it's not about maths!" She said slowly, as if to get it through her best friend's thick head. "It's about your maths tutor!"

"Exactly," Chirped in another friend of hers, Mallika. "I mean, come on! Your maths tutor happens to be Shivaay Singh Oberoi. The Shivaay Singh Oberoi! Heartthrob of the school, and not to mention, the handsomest guy on this planet!"

Again, Annika rolled her eyes at how vulnerable all her friends were to guys and their so called beauty. Sighing deeply and shaking her head, since nothing could be done about these dumb friends of hers, she proceeded to leave them behind and go home. Her mood was terrible as it was, and listening to the girls fangirling about her math tutor really wasn't helping. She needed a warm cup of tea right now, and maybe try not to think about her despicable fate.

Flopping down on her bed after lunch, Annika put on her playlist of Old Bollywood Songs on her speaker, but it did nothing to lighten up her mood, that had been ruined by her Maths teacher- Rajesh Sir, early in the morning. He, unfortunately, happened to be her class teacher, and even more unfortunately, happened to like her a lot. Well, all the teacher happened to like Annika Ahuja quite a lot, since she was a happy-go-lucky, respectful type of girl, and overall a good student. Maths however was her enemy, since it was the only subject she barely managed to get passing marks in. Rajesh Sir, of course, couldn't see his favorite student being anything below of excellent in the subject he taught, and so during the homeroom period, he had called Annika to his desk for a private talk.

"How are you, Annika beti?" He had asked with a fatherly smile. In hindsight, Annika realized it had been a passive-aggresive smile as he planned to royally screw her over.

"I'm good sir, thankyou," Annika had replied, wondering what was so necessary that he had halted her conversation about how hot 'Virushka' were with her friends.

"Not much improvement in maths, I see," he had said with a mock stern look in his eyes that were peeping at her from under his glasses. Annika had smiled sheepishly, muttering how Maths and her were never gonna get along.

"Oh, don't say that," he had scoffed. "In my opinion, all you need is some extra help. I can't give some more time to you, as that would seem biased, but, I have just the perfect tutor in mind for you."
