Trust Me

CHAPTER 1

"Yes!" I think I screamed the loudest my voice gets. Getting engaged to my high school love is just what I needed to calm my anxiety one day before I go to the university tomorrow.

The smile and cheering from everyone in the house is just beautiful. They had this planned out. My mom had trouble that I was dating a guy a couple of years older than me. But Bruno.. Bruno is different. He is not outgoing. He buys me a pair of socks on my birthday and christmast. He is just the ideal partner.

"People are getting engaged at 18. I'm going to die alone!" Penny, my sister comments.

"Speak for yourself" My mother in law attacks. Holding my father in law to be by arm.

"Honey, why infront of so many people?!" I shyly cover my eyes asking Bruno.

"They are our families, Stephanie" He smiles while kissing my forehead and it is the most soothing feeling.

Everyone has always been happy for us and supported us always. We spend the whole day just sitting together talking and laughing. It is a delightful surrounding.

"I need some ice in my drink." Bruno stands to leave for the kitchen and I follow him.

"I'm coming with" I reach for his hand and we make our way out of the lounge.

"It's awkwardly peaceful in here" I laugh as I hug Bruno from behind.

"Anything but awkward. Being here with you makes me so happy. You make me happy." He turns to look at me.

"And you make me so so happy." I smile and place a light kiss on his lips.

"Come with me to my apartment tonight." He invites. Lucky him. He had just finished college but he already has a stable job and an apartment.

"I'd love to but you know I have to get ready for the university tomorrow." I frown.

"Okay. Then I'll help you pack tonight and sleep at your place." He grins.

"No--"

"I am not taking no for an answer. Let's go." He grabs my hand.

"Now?" I laugh out louder than I had planned.

"Yes, now. You don't want to forget anything do you?" He says as we step out of the kitchen.

"Definately not." I say as we approach the families.

"We are going to Steffy's to pack" Bruno announces and everyone just makes these noises I think I hear Penny say "We see you."

"This is unbelievable." I roll my eyes and literally try to drag Bruno out of here.

In the car he plays Ed Sheeran's photograph. Such a soothing song. Everything about him is so soothing and perfect. He's perfect.

"I could bet you Wes has not started packing" He interrupts my thoughts.

"Your brother has never been on time for anything." I joke.

"You're right actually. I hope you'll keep an eye on him. I trust you more than I do him right now."

"You lowkey always have. Besides I'm your fiancé now." I stick my tongue out.

"Mhh that sounds good. Say it again." He smiles but continues keeping his eyes on the road.

"I am your fiancé now!" I say it louder to oversound the music.

"Yes, you are. I love you honey." He is more serious now.

"I love you too." I smile and move to place a kiss on his cheeks.

The drive to my house from his parents' house is not that long since we live in the same neighbourhood. Both our families are well of and are good friends. What more could we want?

When we get to my house I find our helper Susan dusting off the table.

"Hey, Susan" I greet from the door making my way up the stairs.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" she warns. Stopping what she's doing and looking towards us.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom baby" Bruno whispers in my ear and makes his way up the stairs.

"Why? I'm going up to my room." I am now puzzled.

"Oh. Wesley is upstairs"

"Why would he be here? Everyone is at his house. Celebrating my engagement!" I show her the ring and she throwns down her duster to come hug me.

"Oh my god! It's so gorgeous" she looks up to me and smile with watery eyes. I don't blame her. She basically raised me.

"I always knew Bruno was your end game."

"I know! I just never thought it would be now. I'm not complaining." I smile politely.

"You deserve this and much more." Her gloomy eyes sparkle with happiness. I kiss her on the cheek.

"Let me go up to my room now. I'll see you tomorrow. I love you." I say as I'm leaving.

"I love you sweety."

I make my way up the stairs and go up to my room. What's that arguing I hear in my room? I swing open the door and there is Bruno, Wesley and some girl.

"Uhm. What's going on?" I asked standing at the door.

"Babe. I found Wes hooking up in your room." Bruno answers. He looks so pissed.

I look over at Wesley. He is shirtless. He has a quote written under his colar bone and I can't be able to read it because I'm so shortsighted. I should've worn my glasses. Wesley is not a sensible man though. He sleeps around. Drinks a lot. He's out every weekend. I'm sure it's about girls or something. Maybe--

"Steff, Sorry. I didn't know it was your room."
He cuts me from my thoughts. He must've noticed I've been staring too much.

"I thought it Penelope's." He continues.

"What difference does it make?" I ask.

"I don't answer to you. B, lets go." He grabs his shirt and his 'girl' follows him. So rude.

"Don't mind him babe. Look. Susan packed all of your stuff and also made a checklist." I take tiny steps to the lust he is holding and it's so long.

"It's so long I don't think she left anything out." I laugh and Bruno joins me.

"Let's just sleep. I have a long day tomorrow." I yawn.

"Let's." He says as he takes off his clothes.

"They didn't do anything on my bed did they?" I get stomach turns thinking about it.

"They did." Bruno looks steady to my face.

Judging my the expression on my face, he laughs before talking " I'm kidding babe. You should see your face." He continues laughing.

"Well, good. These people should just wait until marriage to.. get it on" he continues laughing. It's a lovely sound.

"Well not everyone is like you and me honey." He says answers and kisses my forehead. There's that feeling again. I'm blushing red right now.

"True. Let's call it a night." I kiss him on the lips and scoot into bed.
