My eyes widened as soon as I entered the kitchen.

"Oh. My. Fudging. Caramel. Nuts." I stare at two adults covered in flour from head to toe.

"What are you guys doing?!" I gesture with my hands to the whole kitchen. "I just cleaned the whole freaking space yesterday! All by myself!" I groaned in disbelief at the mess in front of me.

"Honey--" My mom said but I cut her off by holding my hand up.

"And why are you two awake so early? I thought you two had a day off today?" I asked, raising my right eyebrow while pointing at the clock.

Well, they set a new record alright. Only 7:00 am in the morning and they both managed to make the whole kitchen space look like a winter wonderland. Okay, I might have exaggerated too much but you get my point.

I stood there and crossed my arms over my chest. Waiting to hear yet another one of their excuses.

They both looked at each other before looking at me with guilt in their eyes. Sometimes I feel like a single mother raising two troublemaker children.

Why? Because both of my parents acted as if they were five and were way too carefree for their age. Mind you that both are in their mid-thirties. Sometimes I woke up by the sound of giggles and laughter piercing through the peaceful Saturday mornings. Lucky me.

    Yay.

"Well...your dad thought that baking brownies for breakfast would be a great way to start off your summer..." My mom trailed off, clearly knowing that I wouldn't take the bait easily.

"So?" I placed my hands on my hips and glared at them.

"So...we already put the brownies mixture into the oven. But we were bored so we took the closest object and started throwing flour at each other." My dad replies as he fiddles with his fingers and looks at the floor, not wanting to have eye contact with me.

I was about to scold them but the sound of the oven dings stopped me.

    Saved by the bell, huh?

Shaking my head, I walked towards the oven and took out the baked goods and put it on the counter. I glanced at my parents and they are still standing in the middle of the white paradise. Amused and grinning as I still see them fidgets and glanced at the floor as if they just got scolded for stealing cookies.

"You know," I suddenly spoke, breaking the silence and instantly making them jump at my sudden change of tone,"I wouldn't just stand there and do nothing. Why don't you two clean this mess while I set the table?" The corner of my mouth curved inwards at how adorable they looked. Yup, flustered parents with the attitude of a five year old? Totes cute. Don't judge meh.

I doted on my parents so much because I'm an only child. Yes, lonely and have no one to strangle every now and then. Sad life indeed...

Well, I was kidding about the strangle part. Lol. But I have really adored my parents ever since I was small.

Snapped from my thoughts, I looked at my parents to see them nodding and starting to clean the mess they've created. Well, they sure didn't clean one disastrous fun-filled mess---me.

And I'm not trying to make it sound sexual in any way. Bless your soul, kiddo.

After setting up the table, I peeked at the kitchen doorway and my heart melted into a puddle.

    Awwwwwwwwwwww.

My inner 'fangirl' is squealing so hard I felt my lips tugging into a huge, wide grin. I probably looked like a creepy clown right now but who cares? The scene in front of me is so, so, so heartwarming and sweet.

There, my dad's face was an inch close to my mom's as he tried to blow the flour that got into her eye. Any small movement and they'll be whisked away into a passionate kiss.

But of course, being immature as they are, my mom suddenly brought her head back and BAM

Way to ruin the moment mom. Mentally face-palmed myself and rolled my eyes at her immature and childish act.

You guessed it. She slammed her forehead at his and started giggling before taking off, running around the kitchen with dad hot on her heels.

But after what seemed like a lifetime, my dad finally caught her waist and pulled her into a hug and they both laughed as if they were the last two people in the universe.

I smiled at the sight. Ahh, love is in the air.

I leaned at the doorway and faked a cough, sending both of them to turn their heads at me.

"Are you two done? C'mon, dust those flour and have breakfast with me. You two made me feel like I'm third wheeling right here." I smirked as both of them flushed with embarrassment.

"Seems like someone is jealous." My mom snickered, earning a glare from me.

"Am not!" Crossing my arms as if in defensive mod.

"Are too!" Both my parents yelled back. "C'mere, little Lee." My mom said as she held both of her arms out.

    "Not until you bo--"

Before I could reply to them, both of them lunged at me and pulled me into a group hug and casually planted kisses all across my face.

"Ewwwww! I'll have cooties after this!" My face scrunched in disgust as they plant germs that they've been cultivating for years. Just kidding. Ha!

I only got a fit of laughter from them and they broke off the bone-crushing-hug before waltzing towards the dining area and sitting next to each other.

I sat across from my dad. Eating the brownies and moaning. Oh, the beauty of foodgasm.

My parents can bake and cook really well that I once told them to open a diner or something. Yes. Both of them are very talented in that area. Too bad they said they are not interested in it. Meh. Then, I have all the goods for myself. Cue evil laugh. Muahahahahahaha.

My morning thoughts were cut short by muffled sounds and I snapped my head quickly to look at them that I thought I heard a crack.

    These two...

    "What?" I frowned.

Then, they laughed. Really, really, really loud and hard that they had to clutch their stomach from the pain.

Confused and still dazed by their sudden burst of laughter. Then it dawned on me.

    "Oh heck no!"

"Oh heck yes darling. You are covered in 'snow'. It looks good on you!" My mom said as she stifled a laugh.

I groaned. I just took a shower before breakfast and now I have to take another one.

Gee, thanks a lot, lovely parents. I thought sarcastically.

But hey, brownies for breakfast are awesome.

Someone should give me an award for loving my parents and having a high tolerance level to tolerate their behaviour. Seriously, they are way more teenager-ish than I am.

Hey! So this is my first attempt at writing a novel. Truth be told, I don't really have a funny bone. But if you guys would love to lend me a hand, I welcomed with hands wide open! Sorry if there's grammatical errors or bad paragraphing.

So....comment and vote! I hope you like this chapter although it isn't that long. Forgive me ;-; But to me it felt....meh. :/

*smiles sheepishly*
