Aiden’s POV

Man, his eyes were really brown. And can I say that I am officially jealous of his perfectly curled lashes? And the way he had a little stubble thing going on, forming his jawline?

For a jerk, he was actually attractive. Then again, he’s not much of a jerk anymore. Well, around me, anyway.

...Did I just call him attractive?

His hand was still cupping my chin, and to be completely honest, I didn’t really want him to let go.

Was that weird? I don’t know, but his hand felt so warm, and soft, for a guy’s hand. “Thanks, so much” I say, smiling.

We stared at each other for a good couple of seconds, and we studied each other’s faces. Flawless, I think, was the only word that I could describe it.

My phone started to vibrate in my pocket, making me jolt up. Letting my chin slip off his fingers.

We broke eye contact, and I reached for my phone inside my pocket.

I checked the caller ID and it was my friend, Josie Sanders, from Seattle. Way to ruin the moment, Josie.

I walked past Zayn and proceeded to the middle of my bedroom.

Zayn followed after, sitting on the office chair by my desk, twirling the seat a little.

“Hello, Josie.” I say, smiling.

“HEY! OH IS IT TRUE YOU--” she started to scream into the phone.

I pulled the phone away from my ear for a second, wincing. I guess Zayn heard her too, because he raised an eyebrow at me.

I pushed the phone to my ear, using my shoulder, as I picked up my notebook and set it next to Zayn, motioning him to review new lyrics that I just put in.

He nodded, and I picked up my phone with my hand, pushing it to my ear.

By that time, Josie was done venting.

“Hello?” I asked again.

“YOU’RE FRIENDS WITH ONE DIRECTION, AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME. HOW. COULD. YOU.” she screamed.

Zayn stifled a laugh, and I glared at him.

He rose both his hands up, shifting his concentration back to the notebook.

“Nice to hear from you too, Josie.” I mused.

“HOW. Could you not tell me, Aiden.” she asked, disappointed.

I sighed.

“I’m sorry, Josie. It... just slipped my mind, that’s all.” I say, hoping she’d forgive me.

She sighed too. “Well, I guess I could forgive you.”

“Good.” I say, my lips curling upwards. “How’ve you been, Josie?”

“Good, good. As always. Still sexy.” She said, emphasizing her natural lisp.

I rolled my eyes, smiling, because that was her signature line.

We conversed for a while before telling her that I needed to go finish my project. She also had to sleep, because she had volleyball practice early the next morning.

After I ended the call, I walked over to Zayn apologizing for taking so long.

He shook his head, assuring me that it was fine.

I peered over checking the lyrics he was writing down before pulling out my foldable chair and setting it down next to him.

“That’s a really good lyric,” I say pointing to the freshly written line he had put down.
