"Noo..." yelled Madhu while sleeping, she got up from the bed shaking. She switched on the side lamp the light scattered on her face. Madhu rubbed the outer surface of the bulb furiously to get rid of the dirt, as if she was the bulb and wanted no one around her. And now her face was clear she had a scar under her right eye and her left cheek was swollen. She mustered up courage to stand up on her fragile legs and walk till the table. She sat down on the chair, opened the drawer and took out a book and pen, she then looked at the full moon through the window admiring how its shine neglects its appearance. She wanted to shine, she wanted to be admired. She started thinking about her past scribbled in the book and slept with the book open,
The lost Me
The road taken has no end
Seems straight but is a huge bendCame back from where I started
Learnt a lot from the day I partedThe place is same but not me
I am more scared than I used to beHere I go again in a pursuit to find the lost me
Losing the left of me is all what I seeShe got up early the next morning, waking up late would cause her problem in the past and now had the GOOD habit of waking up early. She sat on the chair on which she slept and adored the chirruping of the free birds. She was free now as she just divorced her dream boy, She just stopped believing in dreams now. She went to the bathroom, stared at her face, trying to recognize herself. A tear rolled down her cheek, remembering how hot the iron was and how strong the leather. She rinsed her face as hard as she could, thinking that might help her see the real face. She then went to the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea, a strong tea with less sugar, just the way she used to like in her old days.
