'Mine'

I read the label on a piece of paper and frowned. How come everything in this world has a label on it? Even a book in the library has been labeled, some people claiming a book as theirs. God.

"Bakit ka nakasimangot?" Someone asked making me frown even more.

The bell rang making me jump and ignored the person who tried talking to me. I was not rude, I just don't like talking to random people specially at school.

I walked through the crowded hallways trying to make it to my third period class. The door was close.

Sighing, I knocked on the door. I heard a clicking sound on the floor, indicating that the grumpy teacher was approaching the door.

There was a pause when she opened the door. A serious good looking, young lady welcomed me with an annoyed stare.

"Tardy again, Jessica?"

I gulped, "Sorry, Miss Anderson."

She stepped at the side and let me in. My classmates watched me as I made my way on my sit. Once I fixed myself on my spot, Miss Anderson started to talk in front of the class.

As usual, I stared on her lips right away. Her lips were addicting. It was always my dream to pull her face with my hands and kiss those lips. Don't get me wrong! I did not have the hots for my math teacher.

Her lips were moving fast yet sexy. Madaldal siyang babae, and you can hear or see it on the way she speak.

Then her lips seemed to move in slow motion. I gulped still staring, until my eyes went up to her eyes and saw her blue orbs staring at my brown ones. I panicked...

"Ouch, Jessica!"

"Sorry, sorry!" I apologized to the girl beside me when I accidentally hit her chin with my nose when I snapped my gaze on her side. My nose hurts. "I didn't meant to!"

"You're all freaky. Geez."

I was!

The class started to giggle when we both held our faces. My nose was burning. I could tell that I'm going to have a bruise on the tip of it the next day.

"Miss Anderson!"

The girl next to me raised her hand. I frowned at her. Why was she calling her attention? Was she going to tell her what happened?

I was sure Miss Anderson saw what happened but she ignored it. She was so engrossed with her topic. Too much love for her profession. Teaching.

"Yes, Alexandra?"

I winced. Which made the other girl glared at me. How could I not wince? If it was my name, I was going to freak out. Calling my full name with many people in the room makes me nervous. That's because I didn't want attention.

"Can I go to the bathroom?"

"The class has barely started." Miss Anderson frowned discreetly, but I could see the disappointment in her eyes. Why?!

"Well, I needed to wash my face."

She nodded and opened the door for the girl who almost ran out of the class. I sighed feeling guilty for what happened.

"I have an announcement when she comes back. But for now," she picked up the papers on her desk and quickly distributed it to the class. "You need to do the first two pages as classwork and the rest will be your homework."

"What's this?" I asked when I got my folder.

She sighed looking back at me before sitting down behind her desk.

"Series of Math problems that you needed to solve."

"Okay." I nodded before opening it. A pink note was on top catching my attention. "Mine." The word rolled smoothly on my tongue. My eyes snapped at the teacher's desk and saw her blue orbs bored into mine.

I sighed.

Alexandra returned a couple of minutes before I finished the first page of the assignment that Miss Anderson gave us. I looked at her and frowned. She was glaring at me.

"Thanks for coming back, Alexandra."

The girl grinned making me frown more. Ghad, all I did today is frowning. How pathetic! I couldn't smile. How could I smile?! Teach me how to smile.

"As I was saying, I have an announcement today." I groaned to myself, there she goes. "It's a personal matter actually, and I wanted everyone to know about this..."

"Tell us what it is!" A guy in front eagerly chimed.

"I'm..."

"Single?" Alexandra whispered beside me. "I'm sure everyone's going to be crazy about this..."

"Oh! It's actually the opposite!" Miss Anderson said making a brief eye contact with me. Her smile was genuine, "I'm engaged!" She was happy!

The class turned mute. All I could hear was the strong blow of the wind outside the window. I snapped my head outside watching the tree swayed gracefully.

It was a beautiful day indeed.

"You're engaged?!" Alexander blurted out making everyone gasped in shock. "How?! Why?! To whom?!"

Miss Anderson raised her left hand showing the class her beautiful engagement ring. A ring, sign of claiming someone that they are taken. She's labeled, engaged. The thought made me groan again.

Why was everyone claiming one another as theirs? People can't live without labels, God!

The guys at my side was mad. Angry. Yes, they were angry of the news. How could they not? The hottest, prettiest, the most amazing teacher in this school is engaged!

"Yes, I am engaged. It was on the first of January this year! But then, I just wanted to tell you my status, and that was it!"

Wasn't it weird? Whose crazy enough to announce that they're engage? Specially in the classroom? My teacher. Miss Anderson.

I hoped no one didn't care about it! But boy, was I wrong! Everyone cared about her status. Everyone like her, day dreaming being with her! But I was different. I didn't care about her status or how pretty she was.

Sighing, I made my way in front of the class and put my folder on her desk. Miss Anderson did not notice me for she was lost talking with her other students.

The bell rang dismissing everyone's conversation. Students clustered in front of the class trying to actually congratulate Miss Anderson.

"Excuse me." I groaned as to why were they blocking my way to the door. "I need to get out!" I frowned.

"Are you not going to congratulate Miss Anderson?" A classmate of mine asked me.

"When everyone's gone. I needed to go."

I tried pushing my way out but stopped mid track when she called my name.

"Jessica!"

The way she called my name was something. It made me shiver, and I could not tell why.

I slowly turned to face the teacher's desk. She waved a book making me clenched my hands. My knuckles seemed to hurt.

"You forgot your book."

Someone passed me the book and before I knew it I was out of the classroom. The book was on my hand, and I was staring at it, wanting it to burn with my hard stare.

'Mine' the note said on top of it. I slowly opened the book and saw another note on top of chapter one.

'Jessica Torres-Anderson, see you tonight boo!'
