---------------The greenroom was a beautiful place
With all the freedom it gave to him,
As he removed his masks in solace.
His reflection smiled at him but
His face was as blank as a wall.Undivided attention he gave to the script,
Which was a truthful lie,
As he proceeded to code, to encrypt
That raw play into an ‘acceptable’ one
For many were paid to criticise his art.‘twas after a good night’s sleep
That he regained his expressional vigour
To face the stage, where in his heart, deep,
Lay emotions and wills like
The ornaments he wore that no one acknowledged.A hard day’s work it was:
Being in an imaginary person’s shoes,
Wearing them uncomfortably, smiling without cause.
Blankly he stared at his reflection again that night.
‘I’m so happy’, he exclaimed, his face a wall of stone.Heartfelt thoughts,
Kavi.----------------
Author's note:As you might have noticed, there are quite a few poetic devices I've used: metaphor, contrast (irony, paradox etc.), similies. If you want me to upload an interpretation of the poem from my side, please comment! :D
Also, question: where are you from (country/state)?
