Sunday mornings were Via's favorite;she loved how the church bells would ring, and everyone in the small town of Springstein would gather. She always woke up to her mother brewing coffee, or her aunt strumming her guitar for the customers. But summer was over, her beach days, her sun tan that had faded from her cheeks, causing her to look flushed. It was all gone. Summer was officially over as of today. "so are you excited?" asked aunt Bev, who had a Pic sticking out of her mouth as she fixed the turning pegs. Via lifted her face from the book she was reading and sighed "Is there a reason to be excited?". "Hey, just tryna' start a conversation, besides. You might meet someone special, it is your first year of high school" explained aunt Bev who smiled at her analogy. "Bev what are putting in my daughter's mind now?" said Mrs. McRae, Via's mother who placed the tray that had a 5 dollar bill out tips. "oh nothing, other than the fact that she's gonna meet the love of her life this year!" announced Bev, a few people turned heads out of confusion. "that's when you and Mark met, isn't it?" Bev asked cautiously "those days are long over" Mrs. McRae frowned at the thought. "ahem! It's my destiny not yours, plus who knows, maybe I'll be a single cat lady, I mean... I do love cats, and I have never-nevermind" Via stopped in her tracks "what were you gonna say V?" smiles aunt Bev. "nothing to your concern" smiled Via as she dug her nose into her book once more.
