Axel's POV

"Strange. I don't remember putting a scarf over there. Nor do I recall buying one." I softly said aloud to myself.

I cautiously scooted to the edge of my bed, squinted at the scarf and pondered how it got in my room. The scarf was pretty long, had a base color of grey and medium thick black stripes, and black fringes.

"Surely it didn't get blown in by the wind and land as such on my mannequin?" I questioned out loud.

"But I did." A voice said.

I jumped back in shock. My eyes wide and my heart rate became heavy but slow. I took a few sharp, tedious inhales and exhales. I live alone?! So where did the voice come from?!

"Umm...Hello?" I said after getting myself together.

"Yes." Said the unknown voice.

"Who and what are you."

"Look straight ahead, boy."

I did as the voice instructed. All I saw was the scarf laying on the mannequin. No more or less than that.  One end of the scarf lifted into the air and moved back and  forth as if it were waving at me.

"This is unreal, I...I must be dreaming." I said softly.

"Nope this is happening boy. Now come here."

I don't know what possessed me at that moment but I got off my bed, walked over, and stood 2 feet in front of my mannequin, looking at the scarf.

"Closer, boy." The scarf said.

Yet again I listened to it. I moved closer, now just a foot in front of it.

"Closer." It said once more.

Now, I was just inches in front of the mysterious scarf. I stood in silence for a minuet until it spoke again.

"Tell me boy, you sew correct?" Asked the scarf.

"Ye-yes. That's correct." I answered.

"As I thought...One more question. What is the time?"

"It's," I turned my head to the left to look at my alarm clock," 9:28 P.M. Why?"

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Libre and in two minuets you will be provided with the power to manipulate textiles and fight against one of the most dangerous forces in this city, the Brotherhood of Terror."

"Wait, what?!" I whipped my head around to look at my clock, that now showed 9:29 P.M.

"You heard me boy, now prepare yourself."

"Hold on, how am I suppose to prepare myself for something I know nothing about?!" I said rapidly.

The scarf, rather, Libre lifted himself up on the mannequin's shoulders and flung himself onto my neck. I had noticed the lights went out in his transition. I stumbled backward onto my bed, struggling to get him off but failed to do so. He put himself into a double sided twist. I stopped all my attempts to remove him and sat up on my bed.  I then noticed all my pieces of cloth, needles, threads, pin cushions and finished suits and dresses floating in a circular pattern above my head. I sat mortified and confused.

"Tell It to stop, boy." Libre said.

"Huh?" I questioned as I looked down at him.

"Don't make me repeat myself too much. Tell everything that is circling above your head to stop."

I looked forward and did as he said.

"Stop." I said sternly.

Everything was briefly at a halt then fell down where it stopped. My sewing needles were directly above my head. My body was still numb from everything that happened so I couldn't move. The needles fell downward  and just when I thought I was going to get stuck by them, I didn't. I looked up to see the two ends of Libre above my head. He had caught the needles for me.

"Am-am I able to control you too Libre?" I asked

"Yes and no." He said.

"Explain." I told him.

"Yes because if you think of an action for me to do I will do it but, no because I can move at my own free will as you have clearly seen."

"I see.", I told him, "Now please, tell me why you're here?! Oh, and for the record my name is Axel."

"Sure, like I said, my name is Libre. You, Axel have been chosen to be the next Stitch-Work." Said Libre.

"The next who?" I asked.

"It's a long story, but I'll tell you right now your powers are temporary lasting from 9:30 P.M. to 12:30 A.M. " He inferred.

"Great~." I said with a strained smile.
