It was just another boring day of school, immature guys making jokes, preppy girls freaking out about their hair, and then there was me. I was sitting on a bench in the corner listening to Pierce the Veils new album, Collide With the Sky, and doodling lyrics into my notebook. Sure, i have friends, but i honestly wasnt in the mood for talking. I was pulled out of my own little world when i heard my friend, Allison, calling me over. "Dani, come over here!" she said rather loudly, causing some people to look over.

I paused my music, standing up, and walked over. I joined my small circle of friends and gave everyone a small smile in which they all returned. "we were thinking about hanging at my place later and you should join" Allison commented. I replied, "ill be there" as the bell rang, signalling for us to go to our first period classes. Most of us walked in different directions muttering our goodbyes, with the exception of Nathan, my best friend of 5 years. He was one of the only people who understands my anxiety problem, and he helps me when my anxiety creeps up on me during school hours. We have our first two classes, english and math, and our last class, history, together.

We have six class periods, so we only have half of our classes together. As we walked through the crowded hallways to english, Nathan rubbed my back to help soothe my nervousness. It was a very comforting gesture and it always made me feel better. We walked into Mrs. Abrahams class and i sat in my desk beside Nathan while other students piled into the room for another boring day of school. "Alright students, today we will be learning about gerunds" said Mrs. Abrahams as a few groans were heard throughout the class.

As lunch came rolling by, we all met up at our usual table. The 5 people of our group were chatting about there day as i just sat quietly and picked at my lunch. "i was thinking about what life will be like when we graduate" Austin said randomly. "we'll all be at college and having the time of our lives!" Hayley said cheerfully. Hayley was cheerful, loud, and optimistic. She always knew how to make a situation better but sometimes it got a little annoying. Everyone carried on talking about the topic of college while I just kept my comments to myself. Nathan would glance over at me every few minutes and i gave him a smile and tried to get into their conversation. Lunch soon ended and we all left to go to our next class which, for me, was science. My teacher greeted each of his students at the door and handed us our assignment for the day. He never actually taught us but just simply gave us a worksheet everyday that was due at the end of class.

Once i finally got out of that dreadful class, i met up with Allison to go to art. We both loved to draw, which made us close in the first place. "Austin and Peyton aren't coming to my house this afternoon because of sports so it'll just be you, Nathan, and I." I nodded and we carried on a small conversation while we walked to class, which was boring because Allie wouldn't stop texting somone. We walked into class to be greeted by the welcoming face of Mrs. Sumrall, our teacher. After 96 minutes of drawing and awkward conversations with Allie, it was finally time for my last class of the day.

I had to walk the halls of Clariemont high alone and i felt like someone was going to shove me into a locker and call me a freak any second now. But that didnt happen. What happened was that my principal, Mrs. Carr rushed up to me and told me something that made my life even worse than it already was. "Ms. Perry you need to get to the hospital now, your mother has been in an accident."
