"Would you let me take you somewhere tonight?" Justin rasped out as he picked up a rock from the ground and chucked it at the vandalized, brick wall. I looked up at him and he was staring at me. His eyes mirrored the golden hue that was being casted from the rustic bridge.

His eyes went straight through me and gleamed into my soul, making me feel small. When he stared at me, it was almost like he could see all of my secrets. He looked at you with such curiosity and enticement like you're the only person in the world.

Then, he tore from my gaze and grabbed another stone from the ground. His sheepish grin vanished and turned into a flat expression.

"Where?" I mumbled. I looked down at the ground, rocks of all shapes and sizes were scattered everywhere. Every few seconds, he would reach down and chuck another one—it was like he was trying to avoid something. Every rock he tossed was another few seconds where he didn't have to look into my eyes.

Surprisingly enough, the thought of being rejected definitely scared him.

Noticing I had answered, his face whipped up with a joyous expression painted all over it. "I have a proposition for you..." he trailed off as he cleared his throat.

My curiosity lit up like stars in the night sky. I widened my orbs at him as he stared at me with uncertainty gleaming in his eyes. A mischievous grin replaced the flat expression on his face, and he quickly flashed me his pearly whites.

"What's your proposition?" I asked.

"Hear me out," he began. He dropped the rock that was in his rough hands, letting it hit the ground.

"You have five seconds to spit it out or don't ask me to do anything for five to seven business days," I demanded, feeling myself grow impatient.

He held his hands up in defense, and he started giggling, but I still couldn't help but notice the nervousness that was glazing over his eyes.

"My friends are throwing a party tonight," he mumbled, his voice trailing off quietly. He kneeled down and grabbed another rock, and started playing with it in his hands.

My happiness was completely sucked from my body, draining slowly like an egg that was pricked with a needle. Every second that passed, my joy continuously oozed out of me... slowly but surely.

I widened my eyes, and my heart began to beat intensively. My body was struck with a sense of panic, making me feel as if I was with Jared and not Justin anymore.

"You're special, you know that right?" Jared gushed as he reached over and pushed one of my stray hairs behind my shoulder. My cheeks ignited into flames and he smiled to himself cockily because he had made me blush.
