I Never Left
“Babe I’m home!” I yelled while entering the flat where Harry and I are currently living.
“Y/N is that you?”
“No just a burglar who has the keys to your flat” I replied sarcastically while making my way to the couch to lie down.
“Ha Ha not funny” He says as he lifts my leg to put across his lap.
“I thought it was quiet clever actually” I say trying to keep a serious face but I ended up laughing.
“Whatever” Harry sighs and closes his eyes.
After a couple minutes I noticed he still hasn’t opened his eyes. He's usually always bubbly when I get home.
“What’s wrong?” I ask as I sit up straight.
“Do you love me Y/N?” He asks while keeping his eyes shut tight.
"Of course I do why would you ask such a ridiculous question?"
“Why me? There are better guys out there” Oh this conversation again “You can go with them and have a better life”
“But I don’t want th-" I was going to tell him how I only want him but he’s not done with his speech.
“You go to college pursuing your dream and what do I do? Oh right I work at the grocery store down the block.” He laughs sarcastically. “I don’t think you should settle with me when you can do so much better.”
An awkward silence comes upon us after he finishes with his speech. What am I supposed to say when the person I love always tells me to leave them? I always tell him how much I love him but he just never gets it. I only want to him. He thinks just because he doesn’t go to college I won’t want him anymore. I love him not his GPA score.
“I think we should break up” He finally says while standing up.
“What?” I asked shocked that he actually just said that “Where are you going?”
“To the room” He states without turning to look at me. “You should leave and go find someone else” He finally turns to look at me “Go find someone who is worth your while because clearly I’m not.”
“Okay” I state while standing up from the couch “Harry I don’t think anyone else can make me as happy as you but if you don’t think that I should stay I guess I’ll leave then.” He looks taken back from what I just said but quickly covers it with a nod. Of course I’m not actually leaving. I mean who am I kidding I love him so much I wish he could just see that.
“Yeah you should go” He says while opening the door I just came in 20 minutes ago.
“Goodbye Harry" I say while standing with my arms extended. He has this look of hope in his eyes probably hoping I’ll tell him I’m kidding but he needs to stop with all this telling me to leave him constantly because I deserve better. I’m still standing there with hands extended but he just mumbles a bye and closes the door.
I pretend to walk to my car as I see him looking through the window so I wave at him and he closes the curtain. Right when I notice that he's no longer looking I get out of my car and go through the same door I came in half an hour ago. I put my head against the door to see if I hear anything. All I hear is a door slamming which I assume is our bedroom door. I wait a while outside just to make sure he's not coming out. Once I get in I notice I'm still in my school clothes which consist of a pencil skirt and white shirt and blazer. I decide I'll just sleep on the couch so I stay in my tank top and shorts. Then I drift off to sleep.
“What?” I hear a gasp which I’m guessing belongs to Harry. I feel him staring at me and I’m trying to keep a straight face so he thinks I’m sleeping. “What is she doing here? I didn’t hear anyone open the door?” He asks himself as he makes his way to the kitchen. When I decide its okay to open my eyes I get up and make my way into the kitchen.
“Hey babe” I say as I walk behind him and wrap my arms around his bare torso.
“When did you come back?” He asks in a whisper.
“I never left”
