The Past

I remember Mia shaking me awake "Emma, did you hear that?"

I wake up and hear the TV in the living room. "It must be Dad again Mia, you know how he is," I said nonchalantly.

"No, It came from there," I looked to where Mia was pointing to and it was the little snack area in the corner of the room. "Mia stop playing it's too late for this."

"I'm serious Emma! Can you just go and check for me. Pleaseee?"

I got up and put on slippers and made my way over the cupboard. "Mia you better be seeing things. This isn't good for the baby." I grabbed the flat iron and made my way over to open it. I and Mia were both shocked when we saw what was inside.

It was a kid... I looked at Mia "How did this little boy get here??"

"I have no idea how this kid got here" As we were discussing what to do the kid woke up.

"How did you get in my house furthermore do you know what time it is; I'm pretty certain your parents are worried about you," I told him in a scolding voice.

"I should say the same to you lowlife, it's 3 am; don't you have something to do in the morning."

Dad was still sleeping and I didn't feel like waking him up so I told Emma to take over. Calmly she made her way to where we were and asked the kid how exactly he got here and what his name was.

Emma has always been like this, So sweet, kind and patient. Kids love her; Sometimes I wish I could be as patient as her but kids these days really trying it.

"My name is Min Yoongi."

"Ok and what about your parents?"

"I don't have parents..."

Wait...

I butt in "What do you mean you don't have parents, Every kid has parents whether good or bad." A moment of silence fell in the room until Mia broke it.

"Anyways, How did you get in the closet I'm pretty sure you didn't just waltz in here lol."

"I don't know, I was at home sleeping till that lady woke me up."

"I guess that makes a little sense"

Before we can continue, there were muffled voices coming from everywhere and dad came running in the room saying "GRAB YOUR STUFF WE NEED TO LEAVE!!" Mia, Yoongi and I are standing there dazed not knowing what was happening. Dad noticed and told us "I'll explain in the carriage, for now, we need to leave." Dad noticed the little boy we had with us and told him to come also. When we hopped in and started leaving dad told us that word leaked that we were witches, which isn't entirely false but anyway he said the villagers are killing our friends and family because of this. He told us that we were going to a friend of my his so he can help us. Suddenly Mia scream "EMMA! Help. Me." I look back and Mia is having contractions. I tried to tell Mia to relax and try to hold it as much as she could but judging from her winces that wasn't happening; So I went over to dad to tell him. "We can't stop now, you have to do the delivery in the back. There are towels in that box over there." I hurried over grabbed the towels, Then went back over to Mia and told her what dad said. "I CAN'T HOLD IT ANYMORE EMMA. GET. IT. OUT. OF. ME. NOW!."

I grab the towels and gave Mia some water and told her to push as hard as she could. After a good 15 minutes, the baby came out. Tears came down as I told Mia it was a boy. I handed him over to her so I could clean up. We finally made it and had some time to relax for a couple of hours. Then as if it was an earthquake the room started shaking. I assumed it was the footsteps coming from upstairs. I saw Yoongi go to the door. He said that he could hear yelling and people fighting. Mia said that there was this faint sulfur smell. But before any of us could react dad came down to the basement and told us to board up the doors and to not let anyone in. After 10 or so minutes I decided to make light of the situation and asked Mia if she had chosen a name for the baby yet.
