The Mafia Boss"I will lay off every single worker in here," Sebastian mumbled. He banged on the back door of the infamous bar. The back door of his bar.
A small slider opened, revealing a small brunette in the uniform he had set for all of his employees. Black pants and a white button down shirt. He could see the surprise in her eyes at his appearance. He gave her a devilish smile, not surprised at her smile back. Wouldn't any woman smile back at Mr. Paradox?
She opened the door and stood at attention, placing her hands behind her back. "Good evening, Mr. Paradox. I apologize for the wait."
Sebastian scoffed, closing the door behind him. "I don't enjoy waiting at the very slightest. Is that understood?"
He looked down at her, finding her looking down at her feet. He wasn't entirely sure if she was afraid or ashamed.
He was hoping for both.
She quietly gave a "yes sir" before Sebastian nodded in approval. Sebastian made his way to another door, where the stock room would be. Then out the next door; straight to the back of the bartenders counter. He held the door open for the girl (she did work here after all) only because he was a gentleman. He closed the door after her and sat in one of the stools.
"You know what I want." he grunted.
The girl nodded and quickly went to work. He didn't order anything else other than shots of cinnamon whiskey.
He lied his head in his hands, shaking his head. 28 and already crumbling his family business. His siblings and his mother think he's been doing a great job. With keeping their enemies in check all while helping their few allies, the Paradox family was consistently on top. They would always be on top.
Or at least, that's what his father would have wanted. Before he died, that is. Sebastian has no clue what he'd want for the family now. He was trained for this his whole life and was already lost. He'd lost his girlfriend at 15 and had been left with a child. He had seemingly lost his 13 year old daughter.
"Mr. Paradox?" a concerned voice asked. His head shot up, where 3 shots of whiskey sat comfortably on a plate. He nodded and waved his hand, dismissing her.
He downed a shot. One for his daughter.
He downed another. One for his father.
And another for his-
His head immediately whipped around to the entrance. The chatter in the bar had gotten oddly absent. If he wanted silence, he would've stayed home in his bed. Who dare interrupt the one good part of his day?
A woman in a black dress. One that barely went past her thighs. Another slut, if he were to put it frankly, but her green eyes were stunning. Especially against her darker than black hair and her somewhat tanned skin. She was considerably short, and wore matching black heels. Slutty but sexy, in that order.
She was just Sebastian's type.
He smirked, turning his head away. She would approach him sooner or later. All women do. Who can resist a man in a suit? They screamed money, and boy, did Sebastian have plenty of it. He wanted to see how much she would ask for. Rent for her apartment? An expensive new pair of heels? A car? The possibilities were endless.
The click of her heels got closer, louder. Before Sebastian knew it, she was sitting a stool away from him. He looked down at his last shot, before looking up at the newest bartender. A male he'd forgotten the name of.
"Evening, Mr. Paradox." he said.
Sebastian nodded, at the very least acknowledging him. But he couldn't help to notice how quickly he rushed over to the stunning woman. She had glanced up from her phone, a dazzling smile grazing her lips before she spoke.
"Adam, it's not polite to be late," she said. Her smile was replaced with a silly little pout, making the bartender he assumed to be Adam, smile.
That made him angry.
Adam took her hand up into his, placing a small kiss onto the back of it. "I'm am so sorry, Maya. It's not like you haven't shown your face in here for a days now. I almost forgot what you order," he said sarcastically. This made her laugh.
Sebastian smirked a bit, downing his last shot to at least appear normal. Her name was Maya and she does come here often. That cheesy icebreaker was tossed. She didn't exactly seem to like cheesy.
Maya rolled her eyes at Adam, when he appeared to be the only one laughing. "Just get my drink. I've had a long day at work and quite frankly, you're not the person I want to be talking to at the moment."
Sebastian raised his eyes, a slight smile crossing his face. Sharp tongued. Someone for good banter.
He had to know:
Who was she?
