The NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS
___RIO P.O.V~~~___
That octopus...just keeps getting faster than ever. Morning and night, we devise plans, each of them containing hope that we might just be able to annihilate him someday. Assassins get hired, one after the next, only to be able to go through some of Korosensei's prepared lessons.
Nowadays during class, I just daze off into oblivion, but my mind keeps on wandering to that day...
*SLAP*
"Nakamura Rio, are you alright?" questioned a concerned Sensei, making everyone turns towards me. Including Karma, who decided not to ditch class today due to the upcoming mid-semester exams.
"My mind is currently functioning perfectly well Sensei, no need to be concerned. I just needed a rejuvenating slap to restore my chakra" I retorted, and diverted my attention to look at the yellow blob we call our teacher. As usual before exams, his clones are flying everywhere, ranging from Naruto headbands to ones of Japanese and Math.
Japanese.
As a foreigner from another country in Asia, Japanese was my worst subject. Luckily, It was Karma's worst subject as well.
And before exams, Karma and I were always competing.
To be #1
But I always manage to get full points.
But Karma gets extra credit.
And I always get severely triggered.
Angrily, and usually after that, I challenge him into a classic duel, different from the one I recently won. We each place a hardcore bet for when either of us win. We have to give up something dear to us. Karma offered his cabinet of spices, which I properly declined even though I'm wonderful at cooking too. My ramen will knock you down, literally. >:)
I would bet certain things like video games, or...
let's not talk about what I have offered in the past.
A/N: So if you want a tiny chapter about that I'll give it to you ;) Its romance packed >;)
(๑ּగ⌄ּగ๑)
(actually please ask)
Anyway, this time, I was prepared to win, because this time I offered something that I never knew I dared to offer. I offered my assistance.
To basically be HIS slave.
Sometimes, short matches would often mean to offer up my precious video games that he would usually be sweet enough to offer it bad. NO NOT SWEET, HE IS FAR FROM SWEET.
I was confident and ready for what testing had to throw at me.
We had about a week left of studying and I was beyond ready. Sadly, I was saving up my huge sacrifices for the finals, where I would compete with my future in "risk."
"Neh-neh-neh Rio~" He drawled, speaking in his fluent English, "You ready to get crushed?~"
That confident little cherry, for his information, I was going to win, and use HIM as a punching bag. I cracked my knuckles at that thought.
"You'll die this time Kaaaaarma-kun. Are we on friendly terms now? No honorifics now huh?~"
I swear I saw a slight blush when he flinched. As he sauntered away covering his face, I shot a confident fist into the air...and promptly proceed to divulge the logic of Japanese, whatever that meant.
Every time Karma asked to come over to study together, I would always (politely decline), partially because in my heart I knew he was just smarter and undeniably would end up tutoring me. At least that's what he ends up doing every single time at studying sessions during classtime.
Time Skip~ Right before exams.
Is this stupid school serious? Having us hike all the way up to the main campus to take some sort of stupid with the "2nd" "crappiest" students of Class D. We are to act neglected, shamed and stupid I suppose, for our disguise so everyone was ordered to barely try. Maybe everyone else but certainly not Karma or I.
When arriving at the main campus we bumped into two unfortunate kids in Class D, so I had promptly shoved 2 mechanical pencils up their nostrils.
Armed with enough lead and erasers I needed to take a successful test, I flopped down into a random seat and waited until the tests were handed out.
Oh dear, what horror, had they really made it two grades ahead of what it was supposed to be?
Not a problem! I was prepared for this battle.
Asano was it?
The first part of the test was math which I finished 40 minutes before the time limit. More open responses and then came English where again, I smoothly surfed through, interpreting Shakespearean text and the classic love between Romeo and Juliet. So far, I was up till a good start, humming softly as I drummed my pencil on the soft wooden desk.
When the clock had finally clicked into the final section of the test, it was the dreaded Japanese.
Apparently, they had made it very simple, just some basic Hiragana, almost a review of what you have learned so far.
I took one look and wanted to pull my hair out. No matter how hard I studied why is Japanese the toughest boss to beat? Slowly managing through the first few questions, I blanked out completely on the last few.
"W-wut..." I managed to mutter to myself, hoping that my own condolences towards myself were enough to magically put information into my brain. Filling in a random bubble or two, I quickly slammed the paper on the teacher's desk and ran out the door without warning.
"FINISHED! NEED TO GET OUT FOR SOME AIR!!" I yelled at the teacher as I moved towards the door and took off.
Just as I stopped by a vending machine to get some chocolate milk, I noticed a red wisp of hair poking out from the corner. Carefully and quietly moving my way closer I decided it to surprise that little confident cherry.
"KARMA!" I screamed into his ear, ducking a reflexive punch as he jumped up 5 feet into the air face as bright as his hair.
"RIOOOOO!" He said with a mocking smirk trying to cover up his surprise. Ignoring it because I wasn't interested in analyzing such pitiful feelings, I yawned,
"I'm tired, sit down Karma-kun."
Surprisingly he obeyed and I slumped against a wall beside him, head resting on his shoulder.
I may hate him, but he can be cool sometimes.
"My fluffy red pillow..." I murmured as I fell asleep.
