Elliana pov
It was so long ago, the day I ran from conquerors and met my end. It was the same day I was changed into a creature of legends, only mentioned in books. No one believed they existed, neither did I, and yet here I stand as one of them. For these creatures, time would mean nothing and it didn't. I stopped counting the years that had passed and although I look to be 16, I believe it has been more than a hundred years since. Now, I live in England far from my homeland in France.
My sire, Miranda, was the one who brought me here and made me who I am. She found me at the bottom of the cliff I had fallen from and she changed me. I don't know why she did, she never spoke about it either. I admit, I was angered at the thought of being a vampire, who had to kill humans in order to live, but I soon came to accept what I am. Miranda was patient and soon I saw her as my own mother, she and her mate, Richard, became my parents. I was not the only one they sired, there were others, my brothers and sisters. Their names are William, Georgiana, Elizabeth and Neil. William is older than I am in terms of physical features so he is the older brother while Georgiana is youngest, they were siblings by blood. Elizabeth is William's mate while Neil looks to be my age.
Our coven now stays here in England, where we live in a mansion in Derbyshire. The mansion is isolated enough so we don't draw in attention but close enough to a nearby city. I would stroll around the city at night or when the skies were cloudy. Its a hobby of mine to watch humans interact with one another and to analyse their behaviours. Not much has changed with the personality of humans, there were those who were greedy and selfish, those who did kind things but did not get anything in return and those who walked in the streets like everything was normal.
"Elle!!" I turned to see Georgianna or Gianna run up to me. "No need to shout I'm right here." I replied amused at the younger girl. She smiled sheepishly and said "Father says your free time is up and also we have a family meeting." Georgiana was the only one out of all of us who referred to Miranda and Richard as 'Mother and 'Father'. I believe it's because she never got to meet her own parents. I gave her a questioning look.
"He says its urgent." I nodded "Well we mustn't keep them waiting.". I stepped down from my place on the tree. Together we run back to the mansion, honestly the place reminds me of Pemberly. Yes from the book 'Pride and Prejudice', one of my favourites actually. We arrived in the family room where everyone was waiting.
"I hope you enjoyed your free time Elle." Miranda said smiling softly I nodded and took a seat beside Neil, "I did, what is the family meeting for?". Richard sighed from his place by the window, "You all remember Carlisle, am I right?" we nodded. "He is the head of the greek coven." William stated, beside him Elizabeth held on to his hand. Miranda nodded "Yes well his family are in Forks now and have welcomed a new member to their family.". Neil looked confused "Oh?".
She nodded "Edward has found his mate." Ah Edward the boy who could read minds, finally found his mate. I thought he was lonely, being the only one in the coven without a mate for so long. "And the problem is?" I asked. "They married when she was still human and according to Carlisle she managed to conceive." Richard answered. Georgianna perked up from beside Miranda "How is that possible? Vampires cannot have children.". He nodded "Yes however they did not change the girl after the wedding and so they left for the honeymoon while she was still human."
"It is not all impossible." I looked at Neil who continued, "Technically it is the woman who conceives and since she was human and Edward being the vampire.....". Miranda nodded, "What happened?" Elizabeth asked, she looked her nervous and so was I to be honest, something happened that is unusual, nothing can be certain. "She gave birth to a hybrid." Richard said "And another vampire, a Denali I believe, thought she was an immortal child and reported to the Volturi." The Volturi? The so called royalty of vampires?
