Today has been just dreadful. Not only did we have some silly fire drill, but Ma and Pa just told me that we aren't going to take our trip to New York City, because of the "psycho city folk" as Pa calls them. So now here I am, the last period of the day, Choir, just hoping for the day will end, when I hear Mr. Wiker calls out, "Miss Hick, would you start us off in the song?"

"Of course, sir." I walk up to the front of the class and turn to face my fellow students and begin the first note.

When class ends, my classmates pat me on the back as they leave. I go to grab my bags from the back of the room when  Mr. Wiker comes up to me, his blue eyes shining with concern. "Belle, what's wrong today? Your beautiful voice held no emotion today." He spoke knowingly, a frown stuck on his tan aged face. If it had been any other teacher, I would have said I was just tired. I just couldn't do that to Mr. Wiker. Mr. Wiker has known me since I was two. To me, he was like a grandfather.

"I'm fine sir, it's just my father cancelled another family trip. This is the fourth time he has done that and he just left town for work." I finally let out what has been bothering me and before I can even continue, Mr. Wiker has me wrapped up in his arms.

"I'm sorry, Sweet Pea. I understand that the turmoil at home can be really hard. Tell you what, how about I let you in on a lil' place that I go to when my thoughts are all jumbled. A little slice of paradise, if you will. How does that sound, honey?" A small smile rests on his face, not quite reaching his eyes, which had always looked so youthful, but now began to show his years. Even as I take it into thought, I nod my head a grin.

"Oh yes please, sir. I really need to go relax before I start headin' on home." With that said, he pats me on the head and turns to his desk. He sits down and pulls out a pen and paper, and quickly writes down the address. Slowly, he turns to me and hands me the paper. With that, I thank him and leave the classroom to head to my car.

*1 Hour Drive Later*

As I begin to lose hope that I would ever make it to this place before sunset, I suddenly see here my GPS say, "You have arrived to your destination." I look back up to see a hill next to a forest. On that hill, is a beautiful oak tree. I get out of the car and walk up the hill, my designer shoes getting in my way, so i kick them off and continue up. Finally, I make it to the oak tree and sit down and stare up at the sky in awe as the colors begin to change, when I hear a twig snap behind me and I turn around.

A/N: Hey guys, sorry that the chapter is so short. I know, I'm terrible for leaving you with a cliffhanger, but what can I say? Everyone loves a good cliffhanger. Love y'all.
