Wednesday followed Sharon out of the office building and to a lower floor. As she walked, Everett Ross followed in line, coming up behind the young girl.

"Miss Wilson. I assume you aren't too proud of your family name right now." He attempted to spit a cruel joke at the girl, and Sharon's eyes widened as she gave him a mortified glance.

"Well, if I were you, I'd be thinking a lot less about my family name, and more about how you're going to keep this shit-show in line with the obvious... manpower you're lacking- Agent Ross." Wednesday bowed her head in fake respect as she powered past the flabbergasted man, giving him no second glance.

She approached her brother who had just gotten out of the armed vehicle, giving him a sudden hug. Sam stumbled back, but hugged her anyways.

"Wen-"

"You're the biggest idiot on the planet. What you did was irresponsible and stupid and exactly why we need these Sokovia Accords-" Wednesday let go of her brother as she called him out, her voice laced with frustration.

"But I'm glad you're not dead." She finished with a sigh, stepping back.

She made eye-contact with Bucky, who was locked up in a heavy tank, straps and steel mechanics keeping him down. She saw his eyes soften and stare down at her exposed arm.

She peeked down to see a few normal scars and scrapes- including the nice burn mark from the Lagos mission. But she stopped short at the long faded scar that ran from her shoulder down a few inches.

Did he remember?

The scar was caused by a knife that had been jabbed into her by the Winter Soldier himself, about a year back when they first discovered him to be Bucky Barnes.

Wednesday jumped down onto a platform of the helicarrier, watching as Steve struggled to keep the Winter Soldier at bay without hurting him. She made one quick move as the soldier knocked Steve to the ground, attempting to gain his attention.

It worked.

He stalked towards the 15-year-old girl, his eyes cold and calculated as Wednesday tried to figure out her next move. He began throwing punches and kicks her way, and she expertly dodged them, but she knew she wouldn't be able to land anything on him. She was just too small.

She threw her legs under him as she heard the screams of Steve telling her to run away. He fell, and stayed still only for a second. A second that gave Wednesday hope that she could maybe do this. But that hope shattered as he sprang to his feet, pulled out two daggers from his belt and jabbed one knife into her shoulder, and another into her abdomen.

Wednesday almost died that day. Once the helicarrier crashed and her and Steve went flying into the river, she thought that was it. She was already bleeding out, and now she was going to drown.

It wasn't until she woke up in a hospital that she realized she was still alive, and Bucky had pulled both her and Steve out of the water.

Wednesday snapped back to reality as they began to drag Bucky away in his heavy-duty cell. He was still holding eye contact with her, and she felt something break inside of her.

Bucky struggled to keep his mind in check as it raced with so many thoughts.

She was just a kid. You almost killed a kid.

"What's going to happen to him?" Steve asked protectively as Bucky was finally out of Wednesday's sight.

"Same thing that ought to happen to you. Psychological evaluation and extradition." Everett Ross spoke up, causing Wednesday to snap out of her daze and glare at him.

"This is Everett Ross, Deputy Task Force Commander." Sharon mumbled almost sadly, knowing that there was nothing she could do to protect them- Steve- from his wrath.

"What about our lawyer?" Steve asked in disbelief.

"Lawyer. That's funny. See their weapons are placed in lockup." Ross called to a nearby staff member. He turned back to the two men. "Oh, we'll write you a receipt." Steve stared him down as they followed the group.

"I better not look out the window and see anybody flying around in that." Sam grumbled, falling in step with his sister and grabbing her hand lightly.

Truth was, Sam hated that he was helping Bucky. He knew that he wasn't in control of himself as the Winter Soldier, and he knew it was the right thing to do, but he couldn't shake the image of his sister being rushed into a hospital with daggers sticking out of her.

He almost lost the last family he had, and he couldn't bring himself to forgive the man who was responsible.

Wednesday gripped back onto his hand, knowing that this was going to be a rare moment that the siblings had together before they were split in two again.

"You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell. Now, do me a favour, stay in it." Ross continued as the team walked along a skyway.

"I'm not intending on going anywhere." T'Challa spoke up from beside Wednesday as she noticed him for the first time.

The young girl almost growled suddenly. She didn't know why it angered her that T'Challa was after Barnes, but she felt unexplainably protective of him. Maybe because she knew what it felt like to be forced to do something that didn't feel right, or maybe because she knew how much he meant to Steve.

"For the record, this is what making things worse looks like," Natasha appeared, causing Wednesday to sigh in relief. She hasn't seen her friend in a few hours and that worried her.

"He's alive." Steve grunted back as they found their way to the office Wednesday had resided in previously. She saw Tony, who must have arrived after she left that room, looking frustrated while on the phone.

"No. Romania was not Accords-sanctioned. And, Colonel Rhodes is supervising cleanup." Tony gave a look to the three men entering the room.

"Try not to break anything while we fix this." Natasha sighed, only half-joking. She gave Wednesday a look, causing the girl to drop her brother's hand and follow her to the control panel.

"Consequences? You bet there'll be consequences. Obviously you can quote me on that because I just said it. Anything else? Thank you, sir." Tony ended the phone call, turning to his teammates.

"Consequences?" Steve asked.

"Secretary Ross wants you both prosecuted. Had to give him something." Tony mumbled as Wednesday and Natasha came walking back, both studying files.

"I'm not getting that shield back, am I?" Steve sighed.

"Technically, it's the government's property." Natasha looked up with a smirk.

"Wings, too." Wednesday added.

"That's cold." Sam gave his sister a sigh.

"Warmer than jail!" She called back as she left again, attending to more clean-up oversight as her brother watched her in amazement and sadness.
