Person: Oh, anime is just another cartoon.
Me: Yeah, but it's a different kind. First of all, it's Japanese, second of all the stories are so deep and the animation isn't just as..maybe rushed as other cartoons that are only trying to be funny. Anime is NOT the same as Spongebob. Spongebob is not as deep or beautifully illustrated as Your Lie in April, and it doesn't give you the same feel. Anime is just anime. Sure, Japanese cartoons, but so much more than a normal cartoon.
