You had been awake for the past fifteen minutes, concerned for your boyfriend as he tossed and turned relentlessly in the bed next to you, whimpers and a chorus of "No's" passing his lips ever now and then. It had been ongoing like this for the past few weeks, not as bad as this but you knew he was having nightmares.
You wouldn't bring up the subject to of the nightmares or what happened on Starkiller as you knew it would be a sensitive topic for the Ex-Stormtrooper; but when it seriously concerned you, you had went to the one person you could count on when it came to Finn; Poe Dameron.
Even he didn't know what to do.
Frowning, you faced Finn and pulled the blanket up to your concern-written face, almost wanting to wake him but not wanting to scare him half-to-death already. Whimpers, cries and thrashing about was all you witnessed again for the next five minutes until Finn jolted from his sleep.
You waited a moment before sitting up slowly and hesitantly but softly resting your hand on his arm. Finn seemed to jump at this reaction in which you seemed to jump back causing you a bit of a scare, "I'm sorry, Y/N" he whispered making you frown and your chest heavy.
"What's giving you these night terrors, Finn?" you asked, after a few quiet moments you could hear sniffles coming from your boyfriend, enough moonlight streaming throughout the windows to witness that he was crying.
His mouth opened then closed again, making him look almost like a fish; "I always dream that after that incident that Kylo Ren would come after me again, he would kill you, Poe, Rey and everyone else in the Resistance..." Finn stopped for a moment for a breath, looking up at your face then down at his hands that was down on his laps, "I don't want to lose you, I didn't want or ask to be a traitor... I just wanted to do what was right... Helping Poe escape and when I thought he was dead I wanted to finish what he wanted to go to Jakku for... that seemed like the wrong thing too..."
Tears rolled down his face just as you lifted your hand up and gently wiped them away with your index finger, "He won't get to Finn, I promise... Especially with yours and Rey's awesome lightsaber skills and mine and Poe's amazing Piloting... you'll be fine, you have your friends' right by you and me... We make a beautiful duo if I do say so myself,"
Finn looked up from his hands and smiled tiredly at you, "Thank you, Y/N...", you smiled back and rubbed his arm, "Let's see if you can get back to sleep, champ," you kissed forehead before you both lay down; you spooned each other, legs wrapped around one another as Finn quickly drifted back off to sleep quietly and you not far off behind him.
