“As Kids, you’re supposed to know the love and nurturing of parents, especially from your mothers and even grandmothers. Well, there are hundred’s, no maybe thousands of children here in America, which never knew that kind of love, and warmth. We all know that it doesn’t help them psychologically. This situation leads to some of the kids to turn out like their parents, and in many cases turn out  worse, some lose them self and commit suicide, and then there are those that rise out of the situation, like a phoenix does from its ashes.  Yes this was a cliché thing to say but it’s the only way to describe some of these adolescents.

These adolescent live everywhere. They live in Boston, in our neighborhood, you may even know a few of them, see them while strolling through the commons, or even go to school with them. You may be letting them into your houses, your homes; are you sure they’re not friends with your children and grandchildren.

So truthfully you may not even know that you’re associated with these adolescents. They’re like vermin, you get rid of them and they always come back.  These kids are living in those buildings with shattered glass windows, boarded up doorways, blood and alcohol  stained carpet, that smell like feces and worse.  Or you see them on your door steps and in the alley ways. So what is our government doing about this? Absolutely nothing.

Many, ask how they are surviving on the streets, especially the harsh, snowy winters that New England has to offer.  Well people, it is quite obvious, there stealing, trading, drug dealing and who knows what other illegal activities they might be involved with. We know at least two cases in our neighborhood of gruesome murder. (The one by the university on commonwealth was the worst.)  Then there are those few that actually work and go to school for a living, but only a minority of them.

Your words and thoughts may be full of pity towards these Children, but this is an opinion piece, so truthfully getting these children into “homes” and psychological care is the best option, for them and us. Maybe even locking them up. You think this is harsh? Well think about it, they cause neighborhood problems, even the brightest among them. Again what is our government doing to solve a state wide… no a national problem?

Not that long ago, a family friend, Ryan Seaton, walked around his neighborhood, and came across an grotesque stench coming from an alley way, he said even trash couldn’t make that smell. While gagging he went to see what was causing it because when he called the police station they heard it before and there was nothing they could do.

When he went to check out he was horrified, it was a bunch teens sitting together and playing some time of card game. Mind you it was a summer night so it was around 95’ degrees, so the putrid stench was the body odor of the homeless.  How did he know it was homeless? Well for one they had clothes on that showed wear and tear, and the bags surrounding the, and obviously the stench.

When he started to back out of the ally he noticed there were drugs and illegal weapons around. He called the police but they told him, the homeless are common among Boston. The only bright thing that came out of this was the amount of luck he had being able to leave unnoticed and injury free.

Let’s face it, the government needs to step in to get these children off our streets, then again how much of our tax dollars would go towards it.  (Continued On Page 9)”

This was part of an article in yesterday’s newspapers, I don’t know where the rest is, probably one of the others are probably using it as stuffing for their mattress or used it to start a fire. Any ways  this made me really agitated this morning, it obviously makes us kids look bad, maybe some of the kids and teens in the neighborhood are pretty childish, rude and disrespectful but it’s usually the adults that are the drug baring and gun wielding homeless.
