Harry's POV

If I wasn't stuck in this godforsaken cart with Malfoy I'd be going over a book I found in an empty cart last year. Merlin knows he'd try to rip it from my hands to get a look. Taking a deep breath to stall myself from getting overwhelmed while I looked out of the trains window.
Smiling a little once I realized we were at the station. Grabbing my trunk and pulling it out from under the seat. Making sure the lid of it was still closed in the process.

Getting up I cleared my throat as I opened the carts door, casting a glance towards him. "I'll be leaving first." I didn't wanna be there with him any longer. Could barely stand him as it is, that stupid smirk with his stupid lips and his eyes that just constantly stare at me. Dragging the trunk behind me I felt it clip the back of my shoe and in a sense hitting my ankle.

Letting out a small hiss I dragged my trunk a little bit further behind me to avoid that yet it happened just a handful of times. Getting off from the train I looked around once on the stations solid ground, taking a Quick Look around and trying to find Hermione and Ron.

Once spotted I go over and join them. Not mentioning anything to do with Malfoy seeing as nothing really worthy mentioning happened. We got into these carriages that people thought were being pulled by just pure magic, yet there were these bony and winged horses. Thestrals I believe they were called. Besides this whole train thing the first day back was enjoyable, the food also and even in the past years were good. It was nice to finally have an actual good meal since the ending of last year.

Finally getting into school grounds I couldn't help but look around to see where Malfoy was. I wasn't sure why I was looking around for him but I could feel it, something was off. What though was unknown to my mind. Walking towards towards the main gates I walked through with Hermione and Ron. My mind wandering into nothing as we walked towards the great hall.

I hadn't noticed what it was that was wrong until after dinner once I looked inside my trunk. The book. It's missing. A rising feeling of anxiety pitted itself in my stomach as I dug all throughout my trunk. The realization finally sunk in that I had lost the book and couldn't even remember when it could have gotten lost. Sitting on the side of my bed I pondered it if only for a moment.

A thought came to mind of when I went to use the toilet in the middle of the ride here. Malfoy, my trunk, alone in the compartment. That could've been the only way it could have gone missing. I swear to Merlin if he dug through my belonging and took my book. Well I can't get mad, it's not technically my book I have.

Looking around the dormitory quickly to see if anyone was around I put my things away and left. Roaming the dark halls for the Slytherin common room as I looked down every nook and cranny. Looking. Watching. Hoping to catch a glimpse of that platinum blonde hair and stupid blue eyes. Finally. Seeing that blonde I picked up my pace as he turned down a hall. The sound of his footsteps climbing could be heard, quickening especially. My own footsteps coming faster to me so I could catch up. Seeing his cloak as he ran up the stairs.

It didn't take long till we got to the seventh floor, the windows through the corridor allowing moon light in. I could hear his footsteps before he seemingly disappeared. A door handle had caught my eyes. One that wasn't there last year, was this a new classroom? I thought to myself. Walking over or rather, jogging over I got my hand on the handle and pulled the door open. Only to be met with complete darkness. The heavy sound of the door closing just in the distance of the seemingly massive room, a small light. A flicker of a flame.

Moving towards it I was cautious not yet knowing what I would see. It felt as though my heart was beating out of my chest before I saw him. Sitting by the small flicker of the flame, yet I couldn't see what he was holding. Not unless I got closer.
