A/N: As much as I want to, I do not own One Direction or Harry Potter.
Harry was freaking out. It was time for the Hogwarts acceptance letters to come out, and he hadn't received one yet. He knew they had sent some out because his best friend Liam had already gotten his, this afternoon actually, while Harry was at his house.
Liam had patted his back and told him that his would come too. How could it not? Harry was the son of both a powerful witch and powerful wizard. He couldn't possibly be a squib. Could he?
Harry didn't know what he'd do with himself if he was. His goal in life was to be as great a quidditch player as him mum and dad were. Both had played for England's national team, winning the world cup together. It was expected of him to be the same way.
Liam's parents were nothing special, his father worked for the ministry and his mother was actually a fashion designer for muggles. Li was his best friend and he couldn't bear the thought of losing him to Hogwarts, leaving Harry all alone in Holmes Chapel. Ever since Liam had moved to Holmes Chapel from Wolverhampton when he was 4, the boys had been inseparable. They lived across the street from each other and did everything together.
Harry's mother came in, with a worried expression on her face.
"Harry love, staring out of the window all day won't make the owl come any faster." said Anne.
"Mum, what if it never comes? What if I'm a squib? I'm such a letdown." Harry replied, his voice slightly catching.
"Darling, whatever happened, your father and I will be proud. You could never let us down," said Anne, pulling Harry in for a hug. :"Love, no matter what happens, you'll always be my perfect, amazing, talented baby."
Harry broke down then, but it was because of his love for his mom, rather than shame or hopelessness.
At that moment an owl flew into the room. Harry jumped at it, eager for the letter.

Liam was so happy to have received a letter. The only that would make it better was if Harry came with him. He had seen Harry's face when Liam's letter had come. It had been full of sadness and disappointment. He knew Harry was happy for him, but also hat Harry was scared that he was not going to be accepted to Hogwarts.
Liam hoped with all of his heart that he would get into Hogwarts, and they could go to Hogwarts together like they had planned since Liam had moved to Holmes Chapel.

Niall just didn't understand. He was a wizard? How could that be? Wizards didn't exist. And he's Irish. If anything, wouldn't he be a leprechaun or something? But, here it is, a letter from some school called Hogwarts, claiming he was wizard. And to top it off his parents believed it. He was actually going to go this crazy school. If it even existed.
His mother was so excited. "A wizard in the family! Can you believe it? She said, at least 20 times a day since Niall had received the letter. His father was no better, thinking and talking about what Niall might be able to do. In all honestly though, he had no clue. Both he and Niall's mum were straight up muggles, no magical blood whatsoever.
Niall didn't want to leave Ireland and go to some school, a wizarding school , a school in England none the less. He didn't want to leave his friends, his family, everything familiar. He didn't know anything about wizards.

"Why hello there, Bradford Bad Boi," said an annoying voice. Zayn felt his temper rising. He turned around slowly, and low and behold, Louis Tomlinson, resident Slytherin jerk. Louis took pride in being in Slytherin. Zayn rolled his eyes at the moniker. He was anything but a bad boi. Now. After a year at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw, he was definitely a good guy. If anything, Louis deserved the title, even though he was relatively new to Bradford, having moved there from Doncaster right before their first year at Hogwarts.
"What do you want Tomlinson?" growled Zayn.
"Not much. Just wanted to drop by and see how you were doing. To see if you were ready for Hogwarts." said Louis, almost nicely.
Zayn was a little taken aback by Louis' almost niceness. Normally Louis gave him some snide remark and went on his way. "Not yet, going to Diagon Alley tomorrow actually, what about you?" said Zayn, once he processed the question.
"Me too. My mum is actually going up today, for work. Do you think I could catch a ride with your family?" asked Louis.
Ah, finally the real reason Louis was being nice he needed something that Zayn could give him. "Sure, Louis. My mom won't mind at all. Just to warn you though, we're getting a pretty early start." said Zayn.
"That's fine. How about you ring me tonight and let me know the details." said Louis, extending his hand in which he had a pen. "Give me your hand so I can give you my number."
Zayn gave his hand, feeling the slightly ticklish touch of a pen on his skin.
"Thanks!" said Louis, turning away. "Don't forget to call me."
