Brendon Boyd Urie always knew how to make an impression. Whether it be with his soft, brown eyes, or his easygoing charm, he knew how to swoon girls even in the fourth grade.

Though when faced with Madelyn Laverne, he really did not know how to keep his cool.

She was ten years old at the time, all flowing auburn hair and dark blue eyes, She was beautiful, he thought to himself, yet he didn't know how to act.

So in class, she would raise her hand to answer questions and in her peripheral vision, she would see him roll his eyes, and then he would say, "Of course she got it right. She's a perfect little princess." To that, she'd frown but would continue raising her hand to ask and answer questions.

Being a stupid fourth grade boy, he was threatened by her. Her beauty, her intelligence, just her in general. Never had he met someone so intriguing in his young age.

That's what he told himself the whole
year, and then when he got to middle school, he realized how ridiculously grown up he sounded. That's a different story, though.

Middle of the year rolls around, and he realizes how much willpower she actually has.

The remarks still upheld, just lessened, but he still said them. And all she would do was frown.

And there is one key piece of information: Brendon was very sensitive even though he tried to hide it. So if you think you've hurt his feelings, you probably have. Eventually he grew his tough shell and had a hard-as-a-rock exterior. That's later on though.

Anyway, one day, Brendon being the ADHD kid he is, was especially hyper and would not stop talking during the lesson. So the teacher did the only thing she could do, which was mark his behavior sheet.

He'd sat in the corner and cried, cried, cried, and when Madelyn came to console him, he told her to shut up and leave him alone. With that, she frowned like always, ruffled his hair, patted his head, and walked away.

God, he has got to stop making that girl frown.

Grace Urie was the favorite class mom.

She'd come in every Wednesday to read with the kids in small groups and sipped her coffee. She really was adorable.

So when Madelyn and Brendon were put in the same reading group, he wanted to curl up in a ball and die.

Really it was his own fault. He was the one who was mean to her, so he should face her. Just makes sense.

But the horrifying thing was that Grace loved Madelyn. Who wouldn't? He always thought to himself, before snapping out of his trance and coughing lightly.

One day, Grace picked him up from school and saw Madelyn scowling and Brendon right next to her, talking in her ear.

When he saw his car and his mother's disappointed face, he snapped his mouth shut, and scrambled into his car. Madelyn gave a soft smile and waved to Grace, and Grace would smile back before looking to her son, and scolding him on the way home for being such a 'brat to that girl'.

Things got easier for Madelyn from there.

The remarks drastically lessened, with the occasional princess, but looking back at it, he said it almost fondly, if that was possible. And when he did say it, she smiled at the floor and ignored the blood rising to her cheeks.
