Ka'ryks' eyes flared open, staring into the open sky. He stared at the Alley walls on both sides of him that seemed to have risen with the sun that suddenly seemed to be beating down on him. Quickly, he shut his eyes at the searing light, groaning as he struggled against the cold ground to sit up, cursing more at the sudden throbbing pain in his head as he did so. He reached up and tenderly touched the spot where it ached and flinched at the pain and wetness his fingers found. He didn't need to look at his hand to know what the source of liquid was, but did so anyway and frowned at the brownish red stain on his fingertips. A soft meow turned his gaze to his left and he stared at the gray feline that stared hard at him as if concerned. "I've had nothing but trouble since I met you." Ka'ryks growled. The cat only stared, swinging its tail. Ka'ryks sighed and glanced around as he slowly remembered what had happened. He was running, softly gasping for air as he made his way through the labyrinth of the alleyways when he heard it. A short, but high-pitched whistle. He stopped, panting slightly while trying to control his breathing. He held his breath shortly before letting it out, calmly trying to see if he really heard anything. He looked down at the cat thinking maybe it made the sound heard. It couldn't have been from the men chasing him, he could still hear them; clanking and clambering around, but they were far back, probably lost by now, he mused. However the cat only gazed back at him while licking its maw and yawning. Ka'ryks looked up and glanced around, "guess it was just in my head" He muttered. Just as he was about to head back down the alley he jumped as the cat began to growl. Looking down saw the cat had turned around and was staring at something, its fur standing up in spikes and its ears flat. "What the hell ~?" Quickly he noticed something move out the corner of his eye. Instantly he felt a small prick in his neck. And that's all it took to have him sitting in the middle of an alley with a bloody head, and a terrible headache.
