Bolting up right out of bed he awoke with gasp for air and a cold shiver down his spine, sweat dripped down his face while too wide eyes darted around the darkened room frantically as if he was searching for something that should be or was there, fingers gripped tightly to the bed sheets for support before they would scramble to press against his throat where the lingering sensation of pain and blood could barely be felt despite the skin around his throat being smooth and dry.

Looking around his bedroom nothing seemed out of place, the only noise in the house being that of the soft music of some band playing from his phone that sat beside his bed but nothing else in the house made a peep.

"J-Just another nightmare..." He whispered to himself out loud, breaking the barely there silence that had completely blankted his room.

His shakeing fingers finally stilled before he slumped his head, closed his eyes, and rubbed the bridge of his nose despite how the images of the nightmare kept popping back in again no matter how hard he tried to ignore them.

But those damned pink eyes.

Devilish grin.

Honied words that dripped so sweetly with every pet name and fake concern.

And the smell of the stranger's cologne, the mix of cotton candy and gunpowder continued to linger long after they woke up.

He had seen them more times than he would like to admit and it didn't seem like these dreams were stopping, though it wasn't just the man that bothered him it was what else happened in the dream, the nightmare to be more accurate. The.... whatever it was felt too real, too vivid as if he had stepped from reality somewhere else.

He could still feel the press of cold steel against his temple, a gun that was always somewhere on his body pointing menacingly at him to keep him compliant as they would wander throughout the void or sometimes, rarely though, it was a manor.

The sharp sting of a knife carving so gently down his arms, back, whatever the pink mustached man wanted that night and the faint phantom trickle of blood that would persist for at least a while after waking would also follow him past the realm of sleep and it always made him panic.

Even now awake, leaning back against the cool wall of his room and safe once again he could still feel it, still hear those words.

"You should be more careful gumdrop, it's dangerous around here~" The man would purr into his ear, but there was something sinister deep within those cautious words.

Glancing over at his phone he saw the time barely illuminated from the lock screen and groaned.

3:46 AM

Just like always, that was the time he would wake up or at least when the dreams would end and he would be FORCED to wake up and it was starting to take a toll on him.

There were dark bags under his tired eyes and a constant fatigue that followed him throughout the day, it didn't help that this was the 3rd week of these dreams and the more they continued the more vivid they became and the more instant the stranger was becoming that they stay, he was getting crazier too and his words were sounding more obsessive.

" I'm going to find a way to keep you here~"

He swore he could still hear those final words of the night whispered into his ear.

But at least there had been progress made in some way since at last, he had gotten the strangers name.
