Kevin stepped off of the football field and walked back to his dad's car. The only thing he'd been wanting to see all summer were the fields at Marian University. His dad got out and smiled at him, placing an arm around his son's shoulder. "Well, what did you think?" he asked Kevin. The redhead just smiled. "It's great! The backfield is huge, way bigger than the one at Peach Creek."
Kevin never thought that he would have made it into a school like the one he was standing in front of. Of course, he mostly got there on a sports scholarship, but he didn't play eleven years of football, baseball, and soccer for nothing. "Go on ahead and get checked in, I'm gonna find a place close to the entrance to park." Kevin nodded at his father's suggestion and walked to the front of the school. Students were supposed to arrive at ten AM to start checking in and getting settled, but Kevin had accidentally slept in till noon. They didn't arrive till just about two PM, so barely anyone on the campus was still moving in. Kevin walked inside and up to a table that stood at the side. A man sat behind a desk with a sign that had the letters "A-J" taped on it. Kevin walked up with a smile on his face; the man, on the other hand, was done being cheerful for the day. As the teen walked up, the man didn't look up to greet him. "Name." he stated bluntly. "Kevin Barr." The man behind the counter handed him a key, and let him know that his room would be in the East Wing. Kevin nodded and stuck the key in his pocket.
Kevin walked back outside and found his dad, and told him to drive to the East Wing. After parking out front and grabbing boxes, they made their way inside the building. Kevin walked inside and stepped to the side, pushing the boxes against the wall as he dug in his pocket to find the key. He looked at the tag on the key for the room number. He stuck the key back in his pocket, he made his way to the back on the building, glad to see elevators. Him and his dad stepped inside making there way to fourth floor. The door slid open and kevin slowly walked down the hall until he saw a plaque that had his room number. Kevin sat the boxes down at his feet and grabbed the key from his pocket. His dad sat the stuff down behind kevin and walked back downstairs to grab more boxes. Kevin slipped the key in to door and then pushed it open, reaching back down to grab the first box in front of him was a box of trophies and medals from sports. He kicked the door open more stepping in.
The first thing he saw was the blue on the walls, then an empty bed, he took another step in and saw his room mate.
Cyan blue eyes met with forest green eyes and they both stared at each other a second before one of them spoke. "Greetings kevin" Double Dee said breaking the tension in the air. Kevin walked fully into the room setting the box on his bed. "sup" he said casually before walking to the door grabbing another box. Double Dee's shoulders went limp as he saw kevin continue casually with unpacking.
Kevin mentally sighed as he walked back over to grab more boxes. 'why do i have to be mates with him??' he asked himself as picked up more boxes and place them on his bed. This went on for at least twenty minutes before he had all of his belongings in the dorm. Kevin stepped out of the room to say goodbye to his father. Kevin and his dad stood facing each other, his father made the first move by pulling Kevin in and giving him a tight hug, Kevin reacted quickly wrapping his arms around the man. Kevin's father held him for a few moments before letting him go, they didn't cry even though they both wanted to, they didn't. Kevin gave his dad one last hug before he backed away, his father ruffled kevins ginger hair before taking a few steps to the elevator. "I love you" his father said calmly, a hint of pride in his voice. "I love you too dad" Kevin smiled back at his dad before they went their separate ways.
Kevin walked back into the room to see Double Dee up and moving around as he finished the last of his unpacking. he walked to his bed and started picking up boxes and unpacking. He started with the bins he bought to put his sport equipment in, sliding them under his bed then started working on his clothes. He walked to the dresser and placed them in the drawers making sure to fold them just in case his room mate was looking. He walked back over to his bed taking out the posters he brought from home, they were of some of people kevin respected most in sports, he placed them under his bed for now. He unpacked his shoes for the sports he will be playing and his textbooks for the classes he was forced to take, putting them away in correct places then he made his bed, it was nothing special just red bedding and a black winter blanket. After that he sat down and started to unpack the things that will sit upon his nightstand. A picture of him when he was little hitting his first home run, and a picture of his first touchdown, he also placed a picture of him and both of his parents down, and of course the same picture Double Dee had.
Kevin sat there holding the picture of the kids he grew up with. he smiled at the looks on all of their faces. Nazz was in front with Sara and Jimmy, Jimmy still had his braces and Sara was holding her doll. Kevin stood behind Nazz with a hand on her shoulder, Rolf stood next to Kevin holding one of his pitch forks, Johnny stood with plank, Ed stood next to Rolf holding a chicken, Double Dee stood next to Ed a smile plastered on his face and Eddy stood next to Double Dee, he looked pissed because he wanted to stand next to Nazz.
Kevin sat the picture down and looked at his room mate. Double Dee had grown up since then. He still wore his black hat, but he no longer wore purple shorts with red socks. Double Dee now dressed as if he were a teacher or a doctor at home. He was still slim, but you could tell he had muscle by how he was propped himself up on his bed. Kevin sighed shaking the thoughts of his roommates anatomy out of his head. Double Dee had now finished putting all of his belongings away and was done folding the boxes he used and had them pushed under his bed along with his suitcases.
Kevin got back up and finished the rest of his unpacking

The ginger sat back down on his bed when he was done, it was about five PM. Double Dee sat on his bed reading a book. Kevin checked his phone before clearing his throat. Double Dee looked up and at Kevin. "yes??" he asked the other. "its like five, i was gonna head down to the cafeteria and wondered if you wanted to join me??" the raven haired teen closed his book, his stomach rumbling on que. "well i have not eaten since early this morning, i suppose some food is needed to get me through the night" Kevin nodded and stood up, grabbing his key to the room of the nightstand and pulling his keys from his pocket, adding the shiny loner to the ring of other keys.
