When you arrive to a new destination you alway get this feeling of unknown and exposure. Like everyone just knows you are fresh meat. I was fresh meat.

Ever since I was a kid I lived in a small town called Mountain View, Missouri. Most people don't even know Missouri is a State, so I surely know most people don’t know where Mountain View is or if it ever existed. There is about 2000 people in this town and about a few places to actually visit. If I ever wanted clothes that looked my style without going to the smallest Walmart in history It would have to be online. Trust me the internet here isn’t the fastest when you're stealing your neighbors, because your mother forgot to pay the bill again. Oh mother, oh darling mother. Especially when I need internet for my online schooling. My mother, Maria, she never understood the simple fact of schooling. I alway took my lessons seriously. I was pretty good at school, even though I talked to a robot most of the time. My mother never liked school. Shes the opposite of me. At sixteen she met a guy named Ron, and fell in love, the perfect love story. Yada. Yada, Yada. Then at this party she went to she got really drunk and had sex . Oh, my favorite part is coming up. I was born. Unfortunately my mom dropped out and ran away from home, because she got kicked out by my grandparents I’ve never met. Then my so called father decided to ditch the falling band wagon and leave my mother and me. Alone. Its just my mother and I in this small town.

She always told me, “School first boys later.”

Not that guys even mattered, I mean the closest guy my age was Michael. Michael is my best friend in the world. Even though most of the people don’t accept the fact that he likes the same sex. I’m glad his parents accept him. I never understood the fact that people were always so judgemental and hated them. Saying it's against the Bible. Please the Bible said we are all Gods children. Michael never really cared what people thought about him. I envy that.

As Michael stood at my doorstep looking at me with his green eyes and blonde shaggy hair. He took a deep breath, looking directly into my eyes. He opened his mouth and muttered, “ Lets get out of here!”

I didn’t actually understood what he meant until I saw his suitcase.

I yelled, “ARE YOU KIDDING. ARE YOU CRAZY?” I can’t believe he is actually suggesting we just leave, of course I’m done with online schooling tomorrow. But is he crazy. Actually leaving??

“Come on Abigail Gibson. Do you really want to stay here in this small town and become a dried out old hag. You have your whole life ahead of you. Lets make it our. Go on this adventure!” Michael said in a weirdly excited manner.

“And where exactly are we going and how are we getting there?” I said with curiosity. Michael wasn’t exactly the guy who liked to save money. Everytime he got money it was spent on new books for him and me to read. We loved Novels that how we become just good friends at the bookstore down the road. It was there where be both touched the same book, The Christopher Killer by Alane Ferguson. I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a mystery.

Michael started playing with his fingers and looking down at his grey raggedy converse. Mumbling his lips open just a bit he said, “I won tickets to LA on the radio. Remember the Joe Cosby Station 98.1. They were giving out ticket for summer vacations. We can actually go to Los Angeles and be someone or do something!”

I blinked, “What? What about living and food. I have to eat or else I will die. And isn't living in LA higher than here? Where are we going to get the money?”

Just then he looked at me like he had all the answers,”We can get jobs. I found the perfect one the other day on the internet at the library. You know how famous singers or bands play at concerts well the need some backstage people. I called in and talked to this guy named Sasha Kosher. He totally wants us the come and help out. My parents also said they’d help out. They totally agree that we should go and see the world. The beautiful world.”
