Prologue
They call us The Others, which is weird considering we are the ones they recruited. The "They" is our spectators. Why do they call us that, like we are a different species, you ask? Because, in a way, we kind of are.
Well, I say kind of, because we aren't really a totally different kind. We are just kind of different. Prodigies, you might say. I and 4 others are "The best and the brightest," or that's what they call us. Of course, we're 13; but age is merely a number to the members of the Outer Dimension and Space Exploration Association, or ODSEA. Apparently their motto is "Inteligence is the only important quality in today's research." Well, not really, but that's what I and the four others I mentioned like to think about how we were recruited. Because in reality, we think our spectators are crazy for selecting us. But that's their job. Selecting young prodigies they believe, "Will be the ones to help us greatly improve the technology of humankind, as well as explain the basic and complex features of our world." Yeah right.
However, they explained to us how important our role is, in this particular job of the ODSEA. Apparently an unidentified species has taken refuge on Earth because their planet was destroyed by an unknown cause. And our job? I'm sure you guessed it. I and the 4 others will risk our lives to journey across the planet to track them down.
