James McVey
Another day of this thing called life.
What exactly should an 18 year old high-school senior think waking up to his first day of school of senior year you may ask?
That life sucks.
I'm so damn tired of being the 'new kid' every year. Why did mom had to keep moving States and taking me along with like her lifeline, why couldn't she settle down and be happy, her excuse for leaving this time was that she couldn't handle 'John' her ex-boyfriend because he was too good to be true. What do you mean woman. I don't understand her at all. But here I am, starting fresh once again.
I probably should get ready,as it's already 7:15 according to my phone and the school starts at 8 according to the laws?.
I scroll through my phone to see texts from my old friends back home, I quickly type in a reply for few.
After I'm ready, I go downstairs into the kitchen to see a bunch of 20 dollar notes on the counter top. I grab the cash and two protein bars and head out of the house towards my car, Dodge Charger.
As I sit in my car I plan my day, not to engage with anyone, I'm only here for three months there's no use getting attached and having leverage. Try to focus on classes and just be as transparent, no fights and no girls. No heartbreaking or heartbreaks.
I look up East Wood high school in the GPS and its not too far from this house, 20 minutes, according to Google.
After 15 minutes drive I pull up in the parking lot of the much anticipated school. And It's- small.
I get out of the car, only to be met with stares, and whispers, I guess this school doesn't get new students often which is not surprising thinking how small this town is.
"New student, James McVey,my mom called in to enroll me here" I said to the old receptionist lady.
"Oh yes, yes your mother did call, just give me a moment, please" She said looking around her desk "Ah here it is, here's your schedule, have a good day Mr McVey" She smiled her wrinkly skin stretching.
"Thanks" I give her a tight smile, I look at my schedule and go towards my locker.
I see my first class is English. I locate the room after 5 minutes of searching the hallways. I take a seat at the end in hope that no one will talk to me.
"Hey, handsome" Great, I jinxed myself. I look at a blonde girl with caked up face whose clothes didn't leave much to the imagination smiling down at me.
This is exactly why I wanted a low profile, I can't deal with this stuff I start using my phone, hopefully she'll get the hint that I'm not interested.
"You seem like you're new here, I mean I haven't seen you here before or I would've definitely remembered" She giggled. She's quite the bold one and apparently also the dumb one.
"Uh huh" I replied as nonchalantly as possible.
"My name's Olivia but you can call me liv or via or anything that you want, even yours" She giggled again.
Is something wrong with her? I'm actually creeper. Will she start stalking me next?.
Before I could reply the teacher walked in. I looked at giggle shit and there she is sitting next to, staring at me, smiling. Definitely a creep.
........
Finally, I thought as the first day of school ended and all I wanted now was to go home. I get into my car and think about today, apart from giggle shit and few other very attentive girls, t'was was alright. It's good, if it stays this way, I can be done with this shit in no time.
......
I open the door to my house to be greeted with the sight of my mom laughing with my Aunt.
"James is that you, oh my gosh boy you have grown so big and so handsome" Aunt Elmore said taking my head in her hands and kissing both my cheeks.
"Hi, and you're speaking like you haven't seen me in ages, we met like what 5 months ago? " I smiled, Aunt Elmore was the only person in my family who I liked. She would always visit us at least twice a year and now that we lived in the same town , I have a feeling she will come over at least every weekend. Not that I mind it, I for once enjoy her company.
"It's not my fault you get taller and more handsome every time I see you" She smiled.
I grinned at her "Thank you,now I'll see you later, I've got some stuff to do" I say to my aunt and turn to escape for my room.
"I'll call you for dinner" I heard my mom say.
"Okay".
..........

And I choose James because he used to look like my cup of tea.
