She tilted up and started walking to her closet. She opened up the huge sliding doors to reveal walls of elegant dresses.
“Wrong one.” She waddled over to the next lot of doors and opened them. “Hmmm, let’s see now… AH! Perfect!” she leaned into her closet and pulled out a pair of denim jeans, a dark blue singlet and a grey hoodie. “My parents would never let me wear these out, ‘You look like a street urchin’ they’d say.” She let out a long sigh.
Angelique hated being rich, she hated having no friends, she hated being so rude, she hated what everyone thought of her, she couldn’t help it though, It wasn’t her fault her family had lots of money, she had no friends because everyone thought she was a snob, she made fun of people for no reason, as much as she tried she couldn’t help it, and she couldn’t help what people thought of her. No one listens to someone who has everything. A person who has everything she ever wanted, except a friend. That was Angelique. She had so much but so little, she would trade it all for a friend.
Angelique was deep in thought. Staring at the ground with her clothes still in her arms. Then something started buzzing in her pocket.
“AH! Oh no, June must have been telling the truth! Maybe a witch was watching me through a crystal ball and saw that I read the note! What am I saying that’s impossible, I’m going crazy!” the phone buzzed again. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone, it was designed by her dad’s company and it had a see-through cover pulled onto its back.
“Hello?” Angelique almost never got calls for herself, but was more then use to answering her mother and father’s office calls.
“Hello, Angelique Carmichael?” it was a quiet, sweet sounding girl talking. “I hope I’m not bothering you; this is Yuki Akihiro, from school. My father is the vice principal, but he was too busy so he asked me to do this, so if you don’t mind-“
“Yeah, hey, can you hurry this up please?” Angelique let out an exaggerated sigh of obvious boredom.
“Hey, listen here missy! My dad told me to do this, so I’m gonna do it right, so don’t be so rude! I’m Yuki Akihiro and I have to call all of the new students going into year ten and tell them that schools starting again in two days, it will start at nine in the morning and go to three-fifteen. You have to go to the front of the school to find what class you’ll be in, the classes and students will be on boards near the main building, after you find your class you will go to that class and collect your map, books, water bottle and everything else you need this year at Monroe high! Is that clear?!”
“Ah…” Angelique stammered, not quite sure how to reply. “Yeeesss?” her voice squeaked,
“Well, for your sake, it better be!” the girl snapped. “Have a nice day!” she said cheerily and hung up.
“What a weirdo! I wonder what her problem is!”
Angelique clicked off her phone, put it on the table and continued to walk to her on suited. She came out a few minutes later wearing the outfit she picked out before. She picked her phone up and put it in her pocket and went back to the birdcage where Sairys was still sitting quietly.
It was now about one , meaning Angelique had around three hours until she had to leave for her ballet lessons. Even though her mother was a ballerina, Angelique took lessons an hour away which meant she got back home at about nine or so on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. (The days she had her classes)
Angelique gave Sairys another cracker then walked over to her bed-side-table. She picked up one of her favorite books; The fault it our stars
She slumped down onto the mass of cushions that covered her bed, opened up her book and began to read.
