Chapter 9:

Alexis' POV:

Matt?

Why is he even in my room?

"Hey," I say with an unsure look on my face. He lifts his face from his phone, and sits up straighter.

"Hey Lex, I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to start over, because I really like you and I want everything to be alright between us. Is that fine?" I walk over to the bed and he stands up.

"Hello my name is Alexis Rose Mendes, it's nice to meet you!" I say, giggling a little, as I shake his hand tightly.

"Hello my name is Matthew Lee Espinosa, and it has been a pleasure meeting you! I was wondering, would you like to go to get ice cream with me?"

"It would be an honor." I say as we lock arms, and skip out of the room.

It was around 8 and the sun was just setting. It was beautiful. Like everything was at peace, and moving in perfect harmony.

As we continue to walk I gaze at the amazing view that lay in front of me. I soon realize Matt and I haven't spoke a word since the hotel. I also notice that our hands are now inseparable.

As I look over I see his eyes are also on what lie ahead.

"It is truly beautiful...Beautiful things like this make all the shitty moments bearable." I say as I look at the endless ocean that is now only feet in front of me.

"For me, the beautiful people that I put in my life, make life worth it. I know on bad days I can look to the people I truly love and without question know that it will be fine, that I will survive whatever horror lie ahead."

"One of my many faults is my inability to trust. It's hard to let people in, the judgement, the humility, I can't ever let people see that side of me. For me I don't have beautiful people in my life that would be there for whatever reason if any. I have just never had anyone to stick next to me through thick and thin. Ever"

"I am sorry to hear that, but that's changed now. Every guy in that hotel room will stick next to you through thick and thin. Forever." We are now facing each other.

"Really?" I question.

In the corner of my eye I see a girl around our age walking towards us.

"Matty-Boo" she screams in a high-pitched voice.
