Stampys POV
Before I knew it, we were in the end itself. And by 'we' I meant just me, Squid, and Cherry. It was far to dangerous to bring Pearl into the end, she was just a kid! She couldn't battle this dragon, she would surely just...Die...I stared down at the EndStone beneath my feet. It was a strange creamy colour with a bunch of small craters in it, similar to SoulSand. The stone also felt ever so slightly spongey, which made running easier.
The poles of obsidian towered high above my head, with the pink glowing beacons surrounded by iron bars shining dimly on the top of them. I had a few stacks of dirt which I could pile up so I could destroy those beacons, yet that would be extremely risky. If the Ender Dragon saw us it would most likely just push us of the edge. Even with this spongey floor it still wouldn't save me from dying.
That's when I heard a faint moaning sound, along with the sound of flapping. The dragon had woken up. It would only be a matter of seconds before it spotted us and started spraying that horrible purple acid kind of stuff. It wasn't a very nice thought to be thing about to be honest.
"Hey, Stampy, what's our gameplan? Did we even think of one?" Squid questioned me, pulling his bow out. I stared into the horizon. It was the Ender Dragon, you could easily tell by it's glowing purple eyes, and large, black, thin wings. My whole body was shaking.
"Squid!" Cherry ran up to us, holding her iron sword in her hand. "You'll throw TNT at it while it's land in the middle, I'll destroy the beacons and Stampy...Can lead it over to the middle. You know, where the portal spawns after you kill it." Wait...So I had to lead it over to the array of bedrock? Wasn't that the most dangerous job? I glanced back up at the Dragon, tears stinging harshly in my eyes. How on earth was I going to make that huge beast notice me, but not kill me at the same time?
I felt Squids hand wrap around my wrist, gently dragging me towards on of the obsidian poles. We both sat down on the EndStone, with our backs pressed up against the deep purple rocks. I closed my eyes tightly, just wishing for all of this to end. So me and Squid could just go back home, and try and live our normal lives. You know, without the fear that, at any point, one of us would get killed.
"Listen, Stampy...We have to do this...Once we have killed the dragon, we can find that wretched HitTheTarget and kill him as well. Then all of this will be over..." He trailed off, staring at the ground. "Are we even gonna be able to kill this...This thing?"
"Yes! We are and we will! Squid! I know we may not be the fittest people in the world but come on...We can do this..." I replied. I grabbed his arm and pulled him up next to me, and then dragged him into the main bit of land we were on, right by the dragon itself. From the corner of my eye I could see Cherry on top of one of the many obsidian towers, trying to break her way though the iron bars using a wooden shovel.
A strong breeze hit me like a wave from the left side of my body. The dragon was sitting on top of the bedrock platform, guarding its black and purple egg, staring at us with its deep purple eyes. I took a slightly shaky breath, and pulled out my bow that was slung around my back. I knew I had at least a stack of arrows, so I wasn't really concerned about missing the dragon entirely. Squid glance over at me. I did the same for him. We both gave each other the 'lets do this' look, and we charged in.
I pulled back my arrow, and aimed at the dragons head. When I released the arrow, the dragon flew up, causing the arrow not to land in his head, but in his leg. It did damage him slightly though, which as a plus. I spirited around a few more obsidian towers, trying to spot a massive black dragon with neon lavender eyes. The dragon was quite easy to spot, but it was because of the situation it was in. And it was in a bad one.
Cherry was walking back hastily shooting only the few five arrows she had left at it. The dragon was slowly walking towards her, spraying the horrible, acid like substance all over her. She went to reach for her sword in an attempt to push the dragon away from her even if it was only for a minute, yet she was seconds to late. After a large spit of acid, the dragon had managed to push her down from the top of the obsidian pole. Which was about 150 blocks high. I stared in horror as her small body fell from the skies, and make a loud smacking sound as she hit the ground.
"Cherry!" I yelled, running over to her. She lay on the ground, her leg being held up in an awkward position by the pole of obsidian. "Cherry...Please...Speak to me..." I whispered. I clutched her pale arm, hoping, just hoping, that I would find some sort of pulse. No pulse could be felt at all. At this moment in time, all I wanted to do has scream. Scream, cry, and yell. Because...A friend had died. A good friend had died. I remember the first time I ever met Cherry. She was HitTheTargets servant or something like that. Who knows how long she's been trapped here, in Minecraft....
"Stampy! What the heck...Oh no..." Squid just stared at Cherry, our friend, who was laying on the ground, most likely gone. He rubbed his forehead with his hands, moaning slightly. "Okay...We can mourn later...But for now, we kill this dragon, grab the egg, then after we killed HitTheTarget...We can go home...Forever...Let's go Stampy." How could Squid just say something like that! How? Didn't he care at all about Cherry? And the fact that she just-just-just died? Ugh, I was so mad at him. However, he did have a point. If we do kill this dragon, once we take the egg home, then we can do all the crying we want...Reluctantly, I stood up and carried on battering the dragon.
Once we were finished I could help but smile slightly when the dragon disintegrated into those wonderful yellow and green orbs. Yet it was quickly ruined when I glanced back at Cherry, who was still laying in the same position as before. Sighing, I picked her up bridal-style, and carried her though the portal that had just formed. Squid was holding the egg so at least...hi This pain as worth it. Was it though? Was losing your best friend really worth it? Honestly, I didn't think it was...But...Some people would say otherwise
