“(Y/n)…” Unfortunately, Kakyoin wasn’t shocked when you showed up on his doorstep, sobbing your eyes out. What was this, the sixth boy you’ve tried to smother your feelings with? It didn’t really matter, you weren’t crying because you had loved those boys, no, it was because they only reminded you that they weren’t who you loved. You were convinced that the man you loved would never love you back.
Kakyoin silently took you within his home, only stopping to allow you to remove your shoes as you furiously tried to wipe your tears. He led you to the couch and left for a couple minutes, returning with two cups of tea. By then you had stopped crying, simply staring off into the distance with your knees tucked into your chest and your arms wrapped around them. You graciously accepted the tea, and Kakyoin joined you on the couch. Whilst you hesitantly sipped your tea to avoid burning your tongue, he broke the silence.
“What was the reason this time?” He stated plainly, blowing on his own beverage to cool it.
“He found someone prettier, simple as that.” You said, keeping your face blank. “I’m sorry, Kakyoin…”
Kakyoin sighed, and he felt the need to finally speak up about this issue. “You can’t keep doing this (Y/n), you need to start focusing on your own health…that includes the mental kind as well.” This was the first time Kakyoin had spoken against all the flings. You two had been friends since middle school, and it was no secret between you that you suffered from depression. A couple years ago, you had picked up the habit of self-harming, and were in and out of the hospital frequently. Once you had gotten therapy and medication though, things had started to get a little better, and once you had started the habit of “dating” these random boys, the harm had stopped altogether. Kakyoin much preferred you messing around like this than messing with your wrists. He couldn’t stand seeing you cry though, as you were the kind of person who didn’t do it often.
“(Y/n)…” Kakyoin sighed, knowing that you wouldn’t like the next that came out of his mouth. “I think you should tell him.”
You stared at him, wide eyed and mouth agape. “Tell him?” You started, “Tell him?! Are you crazy?! There’s no chance in hell that I could do that!”
“I think you’d feel a lot better once-“
“How could Jotaro, of all people, love me when I don’t even love myself?” You questioned bitterly, interrupting him. “How could he love me, when my mother couldn’t and my father didn’t even bother to try!? Let’s face facts Kakyoin, no one loves me.”
“You’re forgetting one important fact (Y/n), I love you.” He stated fiercely. You knew he didn’t mean that romantically-Kakyoin was gay, after all-but still, he had never said that before so you were a little surprised.
“Kakyoin...” You breathed out. “I love you too man. But I still don’t think Jotaro could love me. If I were to confess and get rejected, I’m basically asking for Hanahaki.”
“And what if he does?” Kakyoin shot back, placing his empty tea mug on the coffee table. “Because I honestly think he does, I at least know that he cares about you. You’ve loved him this long, and you have yet to see a flower petal, right? He’s always asking about you, you know. He’s always asking me ‘where’s (Y/n)?’ on the days you aren’t there, and he’s the one who actually collects your homework for you on those days as well. I just deliver them to you.”
“Wait, really?” You and Kakyoin were both friends with Jotaro, and you three often hung out together, but Kakyoin was closer to Jotaro than you were. They went to Egypt together recently, and you guessed they had bonded or something because they were really close now.
