< Kadem's P.O.V.>

I look into her green, cat like eyes. Her swift, unwavering answers stuns and intrigues me. I speak in a calm, collected tone.

"Good. It will be done in four days time. You will first accompany me to a deal in the town over the day after tomorrow," I swirl my thumbs around each other as I speak. "This assignment as well as a few others will keep your dad in the dark about what is really going on while we prepare for battle. My men will be sent over under the assumption that I'm making up for your absence. They will take over as your dad's personal bodyguards. This will obviously give us a strategic advantage over him when the time comes," I continue to explain the basic concepts to Cora. My voice trails off as her cat eyes harden at the mention of taking out her father. Her heart and mind seem to be at war with one another.

The seriousness on Cora's face is charming. She is definitely a strong-minded girl, I can already see us fighting. From what I hear from the boys, she's a force to be reckoned with. I like a good challenge.

"When will we leave to make the drive? And what are the exact details of the service I am to provide during this deal?" Her face is grim, but her eyes give away her eagerness to kill her father. Her thirst for blood is admirable. We've barely ended the conversation about her father, and she's is already making a transition. It's almost as if she's always been by my side.

I can't help but give a small smile.

"We are leaving first thing in the morning, my love. My man Jasper will walk you to your room. I would do it myself, but I am a little busy at the moment," I gesture to the paperwork sprawled out across my desk. The slight flush that rises to her cheeks as I call her love does not escape me. "I'm sure you understand," I begin to direct my attention to the papers as I continue to speak. "You are to provide me with protection, I am taking you tomorrow as my personal bodyguard. I will see you around 9 in the morning. Goodnight Miss Cora. I will give you a better debriefing in the morning. You are welcome to spend time with my people before heading off for the night. After all, this is going to be your new home," I give Cora a small wink as Jas walks into the office and sees her out the door.

I watch Jasper pull Cora through the threshold.

She's such a beautiful creature. Her eyes are an unusual shade of green that seems to reflect light like a cats eye. It's mesmerizing and disturbing all at the same time. Her hair, so blond it's white does amazing things for those eyes. With ruby lips, luscious skin, and a trim, yet curvy waist...

She's perfection. And the hungry beast inside me, the one that got me into this business, wants to claim her.
