The Wolves Within Us

Chapter 2

Leo can sometimes a pain though, I mean don't get me wrong, I love how he sticks up for me. Sometimes I just want a friend, or maybe someone that is more than a friend. Ugh, I need a friend that isn't Leo sometimes.

One day I was talking to Leo when Mars just walked over and randomly punched me. This filled Leo with rage. "Marlin! Will you ever stop being a jerk to our sister?"
"No, dummy, she is my toy. I get to push her around; Mom and Pops said so, plus I'm the Alpha so you guys have to obey me."
Leo walks over to Mars and manages to punch his jaw. I look at Mars and there is blood dripping from his mouth. He is clenching his jaw, and he looks like he is going to cry, which is rare. He glances down at his hand and sees the blood dripping into his opened hand. He runs at Leo, with anger, rage, and it looks like a hint of sadness in his eyes. I jump up and block Leo from getting pummeled by our big brother. I feel a hard object collide into me and I hear multiple snaps and cracks. Mars stands there, staring at my body laying on the ground. He looks bewildered at what he just did, he turns around and walks into his room. Dad stands in the doorway, looking like he almost expects me to get up and walk back to my room with my head down and tail in between my legs. Leo lays on the ground in shock, as soon as he sees me laying on the ground unmoving he jumps up and lifts me up slowly. I feel myself being carried to my bedroom. I hear Leo calling an ambulance to come and get me as I still haven't moved since getting hit. I groan in pain as I hear a soft knock on my bedroom door. Leo walks over and opens it to see Mars standing there, he looks like he was crying. He stumbles in, with Leo close behind him, slightly growling as Mars touches my hand.

"I'm sorry, Luna. I'm so sorry, I shouldn't be attacking you like I always do. Dad makes me, if I don't do it he told me that I can't be alpha after he retires. I'm so sorry, I should have stood up to him." Mars sobs. I grip his hand letting him know that it is okay. The ambulance arrives and Mars carries me down the stairs to the paramedics which our dad is refusing to let in the house. Leo trails behind us giving our dad a dirty glare.

AT THE HOSPITAL
I get set on to a hospital bed and get pushed to an X-ray room. Leo and Mars follow, both of them trying not to start crying. They wait outside the door for me. When we get back o my room the doctor asks what happened, Mars tells her everything, even about me being neglected and beat. The doctor walks out, face flushed. Leo sits next to me and whispers into my ear as I fade in and out of consciousness from the pain, "Sis, if you can hear me, I know your big secret, just saying. Also I'm sorry, I should of known that Mars was being controlled by dad. I love you."
I jolt upwards and then collapse again, groaning in pain, "W-what secret?"
"The one how you like my best friends sister." Leo mumbles into my ear, as Mars stands outside the door talking with a pair of police officers. I lay on my bed, wide-eyed that he found out.
