Everyone lived. Everyone got a little bit older. The kids all went off to Hogwarts, somehow managing too stuff themselves all into one train compartment, even Hermione once she joined.
Harry and Draco got put into different houses, which was a relief to everyone around them.
"They already bickered like a married couple without rooming together," Ron said when they were first sorted, "I don't want to think about what we'd have to deal with if they were sharing a dorm."
