*Tic tic tic tic tic*
Cody rapped his pencil against his desk and stared at the window.
*Tic tic tic tic tic*
He noticing every little thing that happened.
*Tic tic tic tic tic*
The amount of birds that flew by in the last fifteen minutes.
*Tic tic tic tic tic*
How fast the wind was blowing and how many times it paused
*Tic tic tic-*
"Something isn't right...."Cody thought to himself. He usually knows when something is up but this time he couldn't put his finger on it...
*Chick chick chick*
57..58..59...
*RIIIINNNNGGGG*
Cody got up and walked out of class still trying to figure out what was...off, about today.
As he walked down the hall he couldn't help but feel uneasy, anxiously glancing around him, palms sweaty. He knew something was going to happen, like some strong gut feeling or psychic hoodoo whatnot. He glanced at the clock on the wall above some beat up locker. 3:32:34. He paused, closed his eyes and let out a sleep slow breath as he let all the other students pass him by. He felt the wind their bodies caused as he stood still. Time seemed to slow as he began to drift into his mind. He shut out everything, every sense and focused on calming himself.
...
"Wow. You, my friend are incredibly stressed the hell out."
Cody opened his eyes.
He was in a classic cop show interrogation room and was sitting in a rusted metal fold up chair. The room has a camera, a table, the mirror that was see through from the other side and a heavily fortified door with iron bars on the small square window near the top. And the there was this guy sitting in another metal fold up chair. it was an exact copy of himself, just with the sunglasses he always wore.
"Dude, you are legit freaking out with a PH."
"I get that Zack, do you know why?" Cody said annoyed.
"Nopes, but Aaron might."
"Then go get him." Cody gestured his hand towards the door.
Zack gave an exasperated sigh of annoyance "Fine..."
"Stupid know-it-all..." He mumbled as he left the room slamming the door and shaking the light that hung from the ceiling.
A few seconds passed and another copy of Cody walked in with a lab coat.
"Evening Cody." Aaron smiled and nodded at Cody. "Aaron." Cody nodded back politely as Aaron sits down in the chair.
"It seems you're in major distress, and I assume you've come to discover the reason?"
"That's right, do you have a theory yet?"
"Yes, two actually..."
"Oh?"
"Alright, my first one is that you are just starting to panic for no reason and your... over-active imagination is making your brain think you're in danger"
"But it doesn't feel like-"
"I know, I feel it too, I am you."
"Yeah, anyway, what's your second theory?"
"My second theory is that something really is going to happen and some kind of outside force let you know."
"How do you know?"
"Well, I conducted an analysis on your body and your brain..."
"And?"
"Aaand there's no way your body would react like this due to your imagination, but then again, that's just a theory."
"That is true, but what could have possibly caused it?"
"Beats me..."
" Well at least I've calmed down."
"...By the way, you might want to snap back to reality, she's out front."
Cody lets out a sigh "Alright..."Cody slowly opened his eyes. 3:33:28. He glanced back in front of himself where a cute girl in a pink headband was starting at him, her face told him she was waiting for something.
"Hellooooo? You back yet?" She looked at him expectantly.
"Yes Laura, I'm back." He smiled at her.
"Took you long enough..."
"Laura, I was out for less than a minute."
"And it's too long." She put on a pouty face and twirled around so her back was facing him, her black skirt twirling around with her.
"Why are you worried anyway?"
"Because..."
"Because..?"
"Because I can be."
Cody let out a small sigh and shook his head. "You're a mystery Laura."
She glanced around and stared at him her body almost a silhouette due to the low sunset coming through the glass school doors.
"Walking home again?"
"I kinda have to." His parents were not the kinda to care much about their child.
"Oh yeah, your parents are like, not existent."
Cody let out a light sigh."Yup..."
"Well i'm getting picked up, sooo... I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, see yea."
She smiled and made her way to of the lobby of the school to leave out the front. However he had to go to the back of the school and head out that way.(It saved time since if he went out the front he'd have to go all the way around the school to start heading home.)
