Tremaine

Hopped out of the bed feeling like woah! This is the official first day in my new house and I need to do it up right . . . So why not throw a house party, have all my friends, family, etc. come though to bring in the new house.

After brushing my teeth, I went downstairs to pop me some Eggo waffles in the toaster. Calling and texted up everyone I knew to come and I also sent they asses some rules. You break you buy, and don't try and hold out on me if you do, y'all rich asses know y'all got some money . . . After all that was said and done I had one more call to make to an old friend.

Grabbing my cell phone I just stared at the dark blank screen. It's been what, more than like ten years? Would she still remember me? I mean, she'd know Trey Songz and everything, but would she remember Tremaine Neverson, the real me? The one she used to love? The one who . . . Nevermind, forget that.

They say that old flames never died, but that fire burned out a while ago . . .

If I kept on making reasons not to talk to her then I'd be sitting right here in this exact same spot ten more years from now.

Finally forcing myself, I dialed her number before I'd end up changing my mind. The ringing stopped after about two rings.

"Hey, what's up Connie!"

"Tremaine?" Shock was thick in her voice. "Hey how you doing?"

"I've been good, it's been a long time since I seen you girl! What's been going on with you?"

"You know how I been, same ol same ol; just taking it one day at a time. It's good that you've called, it's really nice hearing your voice after all this time."

Now I knew for sure that hitting her up wasn't such a bad idea. "I feel the same way. Listen, I was wondering if you can come through tonight to my house, I'm having a little house warming party."

"A party?" Her tone quickly changed. "I don't know, Trey."

"Please, Connie . . . For me?"

I could tell that she was a bit hesitant about her decision. "Okay alright, I'll come over."

"Aight coo, I'll see you tonight then. I'll text you the address."

I can already tell we're all gonna have a good time tonight. That is, if no old wounds are re - opened.

"What's up, why you so dapper this morning?" Asia asked coming into the kitchen.

"We having ourselves a little house party." I said

"Oh word! Whose coming?"

"Everyone you can possibly imagine."

"Oh my god, my future H"husband Chris is coming?" Asia smiled brightly.

"I don't know about all that, but quite a few is coming through friends, family --."

"Dirty hoes!" She interrupted pulling up a stool to the counter.

"Can't have a party without them right?" I joked.

"So anyways, how long do we have to get ready?" Asia asked unamused by my response.

"It's all goes down at 8! But I need you to do me a favor, I have to get somethings handle so can you do me a favor and handle everything and set everything up for me?" I asked.

"Uhh hello? That's what a maid is for, last time I checked slavery ended 400 years ago."

"I don't trust maids going through my shit, plus it's the least you can do since I'm letting your ass stay here and eat for free!" I said
