Amy Carrington walked into a bar on a Friday night. She looked all around her to find her friend Tania. Tania is a social butterfly who loves the bar and club scene. She never gets involved in serious relationships, preferring to have casual hook ups instead. Tania was leading the type of life that Amy never had.

Until eight months ago, Amy was miserably married to her high school sweetheart. The first two years of their marriage was nice and sweet. Adam treated Amy very well, he was attentive, and romantic. He never belittled Amy and never raised his voice, or hand. However, it all changed when Amy's carrier as a solo practitioner lawyer started to pick up, and Amy brought home more and more money.

Initially, Adam was happy about the fact that more money was coming in. He was spending money right and left without a care. Then some time later, he quit his job, claiming that he was laid off work. Amy, however, found out from her friend, who worked at the human resources, that Adam actually quit.

One evening when they were having dinner together, Amy brought up the subject of work. She asked Adam if he was interested in getting another job, because one of the companies that she represented previously was hiring. Adam did not react to this well. To this day Amy shivers when she remembers that particular conversation and what happened afterwards.

"Adam, sweetie, the H&P Corp. is in need of an accountant, so they are hiring now. If you're interested, I can pass along your resume to the hiring director."

Adam reacted as if Amy slapped him. He put his fork down and took a deep breath before speaking to Amy.

"Why Amy? Are you tired of supporting me? Am I too much of a burden on you?" With each question, Adam's voice became louder, and by the end of his question, he got up and started advancing toward Amy.

"No Adam, that's not it at all. I just thought to let you know in case you were looking for a job. I know the company, and if you wanted, the job could be yours. However, if it's not to your liking, you can apply anywhere else you want."

"That's the thing, Amy, I don't want. Tell me, why do I have to work now? You make a lot of money, and it's more than enough for us to live a luxury lifestyle."

"Ok, that's fine Adam, I know we are doing fine money-wise. If you want to take a break from working, you can certainly do that."

Amy did not continue this conversation with Adam because she did not want him to think that she was pushing him to get a job. Truth be told, Amy wanted Adam to work. Not because of money, necessarily. If Adam worked, he wouldn't have as much free time to criticize and control her life. Maybe he would spend the money in a caring manner, and would not go to restaurants and have lunch that cost over five hundred dollars almost three to four times a week. Amy just wanted Adam to care a little, and appreciate her and her hard work.

"Enough Amy, you are here to have a great time with Tania. Stop remembering your past." After this little pep talk, Amy located Tania. She was taking shots of either tequila or vodka at the bar. Tania was surrounded by two men, who seemed to be enjoying her company, and were providing her with drinks.

"Over here, Amy! Come on girl, you gotta catch up!" That was Tania, always cheerful and ready to party. Amy was determined to follow in her footsteps at least sometimes. She needed to live her life already.

"Uhm, hey Tania! So good to see you. Have you been waiting for me long?"

"No, I just got here twenty minutes ago, and these fine men kept me company."

The men that were with Tania were indeed fine, as she described. One of them was completely smitten with her, and was following Tania's every word and movement like a lovesick puppy. The other one, however, was looking at Amy now. Well, fine, let's call a spade a spade. He was staring at Amy. She is not so clueless as to not know what men think when they see her. She's been told that she is very pleasant to look at. However, Amy wants a man who can see past her looks and care about her brain too. Passionless relationship, however, is not what Amy wants either. Let's just say something more than "Wham bam thank you m'am."

"So, you must be Amy. I am Sam. Nice to meet you." Sam was not a bad looking man, in fact, Amy will call him handsome. However, she did not like the way he was staring at her. It was a little sinister, and made her skin crawl.

"Hi Sam, nice to meet you also."

"Let me buy you a drink. What's your poison?"

"That's ok, I can buy it myself. Thank you though." Amy had a strict policy against strangers buying her drinks. In her line of work, she saw so much that accepting drinks from strangers quickly went on her "Not To Do" list.

"Oh come on, now, you don't want to hurt my feelings, do you?" Sam tried to pass off the questions casually, but there was a strain in his voice that's only there when a person is pissed off.

"Sam, I am sure you mean well, and please don't be offended. I just don't let people I don't very well buy me drinks. I hope you understand and don't take it as an insult."

"Well, now Amy, if that's the problem, we can fix that easily. After all, you're here on a Friday night, dressed like that. I am bored of this situation. We both know you're here to get drunk and get laid, so let's get to it." Amy wanted to slap Sam so badly that her palm itched from that desire. I can't believe the one time I go out to have some fun, I meet a moron like this one.

"Ok Sam, I think our time is done. Tania, I feel very tired, and I feel my migraine starting. I am going to go home. I'll catch you later, ok?"

Tania was so wasted at this point, that she didn't even hear what Amy said to her. She kept laughing at something the man she was with said. Amy tried to sidestep Sam and move toward the dance floor to reach the exit door. There were too many people at the bar, and it took several minutes until Amy was able to reach the exit door.

"Where do you think you're going, bitch? You think you can waltz in, tease me with your sweet ass and batting eyelashes, then try to leave? You fucking cocktease!" Sam grabbed Amy's hair and wrapped it around his arm.

"Ahh, you psycho! Let me go right now!" Amy was angry, but she was also becoming really scared of the situation. Normal people did not react like Sam did. There was something wrong with this man. No one reacted like this just because a woman declined a drink.

Sam pulled Amy's hair and forcefully brought her closer to his body. With his other hand he groped Amy's breasts and tried to pull her neckline down to reveal her breasts. Amy couldn't believe that he was doing all of this right outside of the bar, and no one was coming to her aid. There were people there who clearly could see that he was manhandling her, but no one made a move. As Sam was busy groping Amy, she concentrated, and with all her strength she brought her head back and head-butted Sam in his face. She heard the crack of his nose as it broke, and felt a savage satisfaction at that. As Sam let Amy's hair go and cupped his nose, Amy turned around, and brought her knee to his groin with force.

"Ahhh, you whore! You will pay for this!" Sam fell to the ground, and Amy used this opportunity to run. Amy ran to the parking lot to get her car, but some one parked in front of her car, and she couldn't get out. Amy took her phone out to call for help, but she saw that her battery was dead.

"Damn, great timing, Amy! One time you go out, you meet a crazy person. Not what I had in mind for letting loose." Amy continued to look for another way out. She turned around and saw that an enraged Sam was walking toward her. Amy noticed that Sam had a knife in his hand now. This was fast becoming one of the worst nights of her life.
