Viatrix was left for dead by her parents.They exposed her to the elements as a young infant , but some lizardfolk found and raised her, they named her traveler.
Lizardfolk have a matriarchal society. Only the women become merchants, military leaders,priestesses and revered teachers. While men are farmers, craftsmen and warriors.
In amongst these inhuman creatures one lone human girl grew. At the age of ten, when lizard folk decide what trade they will learn, Viatrix declared her will to be a lightraider for Olmn.
By the Overlord's decree only adults could be lightraiders, so the lizardfolk had four years to train young Viatrix. They puzzled how best to do this, and decided on endless martial and wordrune training.
To start with they had Viatrix forge a longsword, iaido and kendo were important aspects of lizardfolk martial training, but battodo (the way of bringing oneself from a state of rest to a state of action) was most important.
Wordrune training required focus and boringly repetitive memorization.
Four years pass, and Viatrix grew into a beautiful young woman. Many a young man amoung the human farmhands tried to get her to stay, but none suceeded. Setting out alone was foolish (more so for a woman) so lord Bert Servauk headed south to dragonraider academy with Viatrix .
