Female Day

Kane's POV

My name is Kane Jansen, i am 14 years old and I attend Volttri high as a freshman in a small town in South Dakota, I am the youngest high schooler In my class. I live in Alden's joint orphanage on deck street two blocks away from my high school.

Alden is the owner of Alden's orphanage (obviously) he's a middle aged man with a life goal to give kids like me another chance for a family, he's one of the kindest people I've meet in this business, I've been bounced around from foster home to foster home all my life, they say that a fireman found me outside their firehouse right before they pulled out, all that was on me was a onesie and a note with my name and birth date.

I grab my book bag and my skateboard and I ride off to school. When I get to school I go straight to my locker, that is positioned right between two out of three of my best friends because I don't chose favorites, to much energy would be required.

"Hiya Kane, get enough sleep last night" one out of three of my best friends, David says way to enthusiastically for it to only be 6:48 in the morning. I look at David with an exasperated look "chill man it's like 6:40 in the morning on a Monday, I slept fine how about you?" I replied "Actually it's exactly 6:50 in the morning on a Monday, that's great! I slept fantastically thank you!" David replies matter of factly and again way to enthusiastic for how early it is. As I look back towards my locker there is a loud bang that makes me jump slightly and whip my head towards the left of my locker where the sound came from "Jesus fries, Alex you nearly gave me a heart attack!" I disclaim in a whisper shout. " Actually it's Alicia not Alex today, and I shall go by female pronouns for the reminder of the day, thank you very much!" Alex sorry I mean Alicia says in a demanding tone of voice like she usually dose on female day mornings. "Oh my bad princess as you wish my queen! I'll make sure to check in next time!" I replied in a overly sarcastic tone of voice. " Much appreciated babe" Alicia says with a deadpan expression on her face " Not a problem doll" I replied because I know it bugs her, while finally shutting my locker after getting everything I need out "Where's Brianna? She's normally the first one here" ask Alicia as she opens up her locker on my left side " she has a doctors appointment at 8:00 so she probably won't show up till about third period" I replied as I tug on my shirt to make sure it didn't show my stomach while I fix my jacket. "We should probably head to class before we're late" David says in a slightly calmer voice than earlier "Class doesn't start for another seventeen minuets David, and it takes us like two minutes to get there how could we possibly be late?" I say in a questioning tone. " The early bird gets the worm Kane!" David exclaims in his previously enthusiastic voice from this morning. "All right I guess heading to class seventeen minutes early can't kill me this early in the year" I say with a slight laugh as I tug my back pack straps closer together. "Well I guess you're not entirely wrong" Alicia says with a sigh as we make our way towards our shared first hour which is science.

It's now lunch time which by the way is by far my favorite time of the day. Alicia, David, and Brianna are already  at our usual spot on the far left of the library where we always spend our lunch hour when I walk into the library. "What's up?" I say as I approach our spot and plop myself down in my usual chair that is sat right across from Brianna. "Shut the fuck up! This is a library!" Brianna exclaims in a loud tone of voice. My left eyebrow flys up to an arch at her " doesn't you shouting at me sorta contradict the quite rule" I ask in a questioning tone of voice. "Whatever" Brianna says with a huff I laugh slightly at her antics "how did your doctors appointment go?" I ask Brianna, she lets out a long sigh and sinks in her chair slightly "the hormone pill they gave me isn't really do anything...I don't know why" she sighs again. "I'm sure that they just need to....up the dosage a bit right guys!?" David says in a hopeful yet unsure tone of voice as he shoots a nervous look at Alicia and I from his spot next to Brianna looking for approval. Alicia nods her head enthusiastically in approval of what David said while I add to their enthusiasm "Yeah....yeah I'm sure that's all they need to do, you just need to stay... positive and trust the doctors I'm sure they know what their doing... I mean I hope they would since their kinda specialist in this field right?" I say in an uplifting and sophisticated tone of voice, even though I have no idea what the fries I'm talking about, but Brianna seems to buy it as she rights her self in her chair and gives us a great full smile "thanks guys you're right I really needed to hear that I was just over thinking everything" she says with a small sigh.

School just got out for the day. So my friends and I make our way down the side walk to where the cross road is, when we get to the cross road where we split ways for the day. Brianna stay straight making her way towards her family, Alicia veirs left towards her home where she lives with her grandmas, David also veirs left but it's to get into the limo with his official driver Albert, while I veir right putting down my skate bored as I start making my way towards Alden's orphanage where I live with all the other abandoned kids.
