AMERICA'S POV
“Maxon, I think we do need to talk about who to tell.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, do you want the whole country to know right away, or should it be a secret? Can I tell my family, and Aspen and Mallory and Lucy?”
“ Darling, I want your opinion. You're the one dealing with the stress, and whatever helps that, I want to do.”
“Lord. I'm under stress? Says the king!!”
“Gah. Being king isn't always hard. I mean, at least I have you as my queen.”
“AWWW. You're so sweet. I don't deserve you.”
“Does this mean I can call you my dear?”
“Don't start with me!”
“ I still do not understand your aversion to that name.”
“Yeah, well. If I have anything to do with it, you never will.”
“I have some work I need to get to, if I'm going to sleep tonight.”
“Alright. I'll go bother Mallory.”
“Bye. I love you.”
“Love you too.”
I walked steadily out the door, trying not to trip over my clumsy self, and ended up walking right into none other than Aspen.
“Can you tell me now?”
“I suppose.”
“WELL..?”
“I'm having a baby.”
The shock on his face was quite obvious. It took him a moment, but he was finally able to stutter out a congratulations before continuing guarding or whatever it was he was doing. Next I needed to make a quick stop down the road. I walked, carefully, accompanied by a guard or two. I knocked on the door, and May opened it carefully, but excited at the same time. When she saw me, all traces of caution disappeared, and she hugged me tightly.
“May, is everyone here?”
“Yes. Even Kota and Asta.”
“Okay. I need to talk to all of you.”
May shouted, “Can everyone come to the living room? America's here and she has an announcement.”
Everyone made there way, rather slowly, and when they got downstairs, they badgered me with questions.
“How is Maxon,” Kota asked
“How've you been,” Kenna's eyes filled with concern.
“Don't yell at the prince,” mom exclaimed.
When I managed to get word in, I took it.
“ Fine, fine, I will do as I please, and I have news.”
“Well, go on then,” May said, excitedly.
“I'm pregnant.”
I would never forget the look on their faces as the news sunk in.
