Knock. Pause. Knock. Pause. Knock knock knock.

That was it.  That was his knock.  His giant hands thumped on the door, loud enough to wake the sleeping Gerard.  With adrenaline rushing through Gerard like a roller coaster, he silently sprung out of bed.  He craned his neck, searching for anyone else who had heard the knocks of his lover.  Home alone, he remembered, and sighed with relief.  His sweaty hand brushed through his lemon hair as he gingerly tip-toed out of his room.  Once he could start to see in the dark, he rushed to the door.  "Just a second," he called to the door, a grin spreading across his pale face.  He was here!  He had actually come to see Gerard in the middle of the night.  His heart thumped like an excited rabbit.  He looked down at his pajamas, sighing.  He should have dressed better for him.  Gerard shrugged it off, and opened the door.

There he was, standing there like a lost angel.  His eyes met Gerard in the darkness, both of them sharing a moment.  There was nothing but silence.  Absolute silence.

He quickly broke the silence, grinning like a fool.  "Gerard!" he exclaimed in his booming voice.  He grasped Gerard in a bear hug, holding onto him for dear life.  "I've missed you!"

Gerard giggled, breaking the hug to breathe.  "I missed you so much, Shrek.  I can't believe you came."  He inhaled, as if taking it all in.

"I would do anything for you, bae," Shrek chuckled.  "You know that."

Gerard blushed, hoping Shrek wouldn't see.  Luckily, it was dark.  "Come on in!" he gestured inside his house.  He flipped on the light switch, and guided in the giant ogre.

"I didn't even notice you dyed your hair!" Shrek laughed.  "You look like a lemon! I could eat you all up."

"Ayy, thanks Shrek.  I didn't know you like lemons."

            "Of course I do!"

After their short conversation, silence struck over them once again.  Gerard tapped his foot and stared at the ground, silent.  Shrek twiddled his thumbs, embarrassed.  He never knew how to start a conversation.  Gerard once again broke the silence.  "I guess you're not in the talking kind of mood?" He wiggled his eyebrow.

Shrek's mouth dropped open.  Gerard nodded.  He practically sprinted to his room in a playful manner, giggling as he went.  Shrek wobbled over.  He found Gerard lying on the bed.  He went over to him and laid aside him, catching his breath.  "Are you Princess Fiona? 'Cause you smokin'," Shrek laughed.

"Dammit, Shrek," Gerard sighed.  "That was so lame."  He jumped on top of Shrek, pecking kisses all over his green face.  Shrek awkwardly took Gerard's pajama top off, and threw it across the room.  They slowly took each other's clothes off.  Gerard stared at Shrek's big...thing.

Gerard laughed awkwardly.  "What?" Shrek asked, not sure if he should be insulted.

"It's just...bigger and greener than I imagined," Gerard laughed.  Shrek started laughing too.

"You know, Donkey-erm...I mean, Gerard-sometimes things are more than they appear." Gerard nodded contently, and Shrek got on top of Gerard.

Their next actions included lots of moaning, shrieking, "Shrek is love, Shrek is life," and a ton of green goop.
