Mulligan’s POV

I was at a party when I heard screaming outside. I followed the noise to see three guys fighting, two guys really, one was passed out. I walked closer to see it was John and Jefferson fighting. I pulled Jefferson back while someone else pulled John away. “What the heck, guys!?” I asked. I noticed no one was paying any attention to the guy on the ground. Lafayette walked out in front of John looking upset. “John, you are cheating on me.” he said in his french accent. John looked confused “No! What? I would never cheat!” he said trying to plead his innocence. John looked down to see the guy on the ground. “Alex?” he asked. When that Alex guy didn’t reply John kneeled next to him “Jefferson what did you do!?” he yelled trying to check his pulse even though he was shaking really badly.

John’s POV

I paced the ground waiting for Alex to wake up. Lafayette and I broke up with him thinking I was cheating and cared for Alex more than him, which isn’t true in case anyone is wondering… or is it… “hmmmm” I heard Alex hum as he rolled over to face me. “Yeah, I think so- OW!” he yelled with pain. I rushed to his side so fast I felt like the flash. “What happened? Are you okay? What hurts? Where does it hurt?” I asked taking his hand. “My ribs..”  he croaked out, his voice no louder than a whisper, his eyes squeezing shut tightly, his hands turning into fist. “It’s okay, Lexi. I’ll get you some meds and a doctor” I said running out of the room. “John…” he said stopping me in my tracks “did you just call me Lexi?” he asked looking at me. I nodded walking back to him slowly. Alex smiled slightly “that’s what my mom used to call me.” he said sighing. “Is that a problem?” I asked sitting on the bed, putting my face close to his. “No.” he said in a whisper. Suddenly feeling awkward I left yelling to Alex “I-I’ll be right, um, right back!” I knew I was really red from the burning in my cheeks.
