Arabella entered the mansion. As soon as she entered, the door behind her shut. She drew her sword Sayo Fang out. She walked heading down the long hallway slowly and quietly. The only sounds she could hear were her own footsteps on the marble floor, leading to the door in front of her. She opened the door, looking around her; she found that the mansion into which she had stepped into was very light and open.
Not at all where one would expect an oppressor to live. There were beautiful portraits on the walls and elaborately decorated vases upon mahogany tables. It was all visually stunning and Arabella found herself coming to ease in this place. Finding a flight of stairs, she began to ascend them since the invisible monsters had told her that the Book was upstairs.
Once Arabella reached the top, she began to travel down the other one long hallway which had no other rooms except one large one at the end. It looked to be either a library or the study. In the middle of the room upon a carved podium sat a book that looked to be very old and had a leather cover.
Arabella got the gut feeling that the book was the Book of Spells and so it was, all she could do to contain her excitement and to suppress her urge of running to the podium.
She walked over and upon reaching the podium, she noticed the book had a lot of letters on the cover but they were all scrambled up. Still, she tried opening the cover.
No luck.
It was as if the cover had been super-glued to the book. Giving a sigh of frustration, Arabella looked on the podium for something that would help her open the book like a key or a magic wand. She spotted a cute little cherub in the top right corner of the podium for and watched him. To her amazement, the cherub came to life and blew upon the cloud that was carved into the podium next to it.
‘What is this hit?’ Sayo Fang asked. It was Arabella’s only hope. Looking back at the cover, she took one deep breath, and she blew on it and at once, the letters rearranged themselves to spell Book of Spells.
‘I’ve done it!! Thank you cherub’ Arabella thought inwardly as she hastily opened the cover and began to search the pages for the spell. She found a spell for snow and recited it. Instantly, snow came down from the ceiling and it brought back memories of when Arabella and Terrance when they were young and playing with the snow outside. Smiling, Arabella began to turn the pages again, searching for the spell to make Invisibility to Visibility, when she came across a spell that intrigues her.
‘A spell to make you she the beauty who you wish to be’ said Arabella, reading the title.
As she looked on, the portrait of the beautiful woman on the next page turned into a mirror and Arabella’s reflection turned into her step-mum, Melanie’s.
Arabella was scared, she closed her eyes and flipped the page. After she flipped the page, her eyes flutter oped. Arabella peered at the title of the spell. She was staring at the spell to make Invisibility to Visibility. Arabella read it. Things in the mansion began moving, appearing. The ladder moved. Then there was very odd noise, as if there was rippling water and suddenly the vision start appearing out of thin air before her very eyes. She lowered her weapon. Shockingly, it was both Arabella and Terrance’s best friend.
‘Hadrian???’ Arabella said shockingly.
‘Arabella!!’ exclaimed Hadrian. He rushed forward, reached her and swept into a hug.
‘What are you doing here?’ Hadrian asked.
‘Well…there were these, I don’t know, what they are, they told me to come in here and read the spell Invisibility to Visibility. So here I am, read it, and now you’ve appeared’ Arabella explained.
‘Where’s Terrance? He’s usually with you’ Hadrian asked.
‘That’s why I came, Terrance is hurt and he is at Remus’s, and Remus sent me out here to get an amount of things he needed within the 72 hours time’ Arabella said.
‘Well we better get going’ Hadrian mentioned. With that they left the mansion.
Arabella and Hadrian stepped out of the mansion. In front of them, to invisible had turned visible, they were one foot creatures called Dufflepuds.
‘THE OPPRESSOR!!’ they all screamed and picked up their sticks.
‘I didn’t oppress you. I made you invisible for your own good’ replied Hadrian, stepping closer to the Chief, who began to hop swiftly backwards.
‘OPPRESSOR!!’ came the cries of the creature.
‘I didn’t oppress you’ repeated Hadrian.
‘But you could have!!’ said one of the creatures. ‘If you wanted to!’
‘Be gone’ Hadrian said and he blew something into the faces of the creatures, who immediately scampered off, yelling cries of ‘OPPRESSOR’ as they left.
‘What are those things?’ asked Arabella.
‘Dufflepuds’ answered the magician simply.
‘Right, of course, Hadrian, do you have any idea where to find all the things Remus needs?’ Arabella asked as she fetches her horse and follows him to his stable.
‘Do you have the list of things that Remus needed you to fetch?’ Hadrian asked.
‘Of course I do, I wouldn’t be out here If I hadn’t got the list. I would be lost’ Arabella said, taking out a scroll from the pouch she attached on the horse and hands it to Hadrian.
'That's a whole lot of things we need to fetch. We have to get going, and you were saying that we have exactly 72 hours to get everything. We need help from Amelia and Terrowin the Count and Countess of Derwentwater. They'll get us back if we've got everything. it'll be far and it'll take longer if we travel back by horses' Hadrian mentioned.
‘Okay let’s see, crab claw, monks wood, needle root and the antidote. Oh and Remus also left a note saying. “You can find monks wood in Rosewood Cave and crab claw at any beach, but you will need to find the needle root yourself, I suppose it might be at Rosewood Cave, they should be at any caves, main cave you should check out on is Eragon Cave. DO NOT fall to great temptations, listen to your heart, to defeat the darkness out there, you have to defeat the darkness inside yourself. P.S: if you ever meet, Terrowin and Amelia the Count and Countess of Derwentwater, give them my greetings” ‘Hadrian read the note and the list of things needed to be collected in order for Terrance’s survival.
