The wind blew furiously at Raynia's head as she walked across the schools parking lot. She kept her back hunched and hoped her backpack wouldn't blow off.

Of course, her mom could have dropped her off at the entrance but even as a nerd, Raynia knew that wasn't cool.

Fingers pointed and tongues tagged when that happened. And all that happened enough without having to add 'overprotective parent' to the list.

She trudged up the wide cement steps and through the double doors. Inside was the usual noisy hum drum of students.

Harley Jackson, was of course, in the midst of the biggest mob.

Raynia sidled up beside the wall of bodies to get to her locker. She muttered a quick excuse me as she bumped into a cheerleader.

"It's huge!" Mia was squealing to Taylor.

Raynia blushed. She knew what they were talking about. Harley apparently slept with a new girl every week and supposedly this week it had been Mia's turn.

The mass of bodies suddenly closed in on Raynia. She was pressed tight against the wall. Her one armed was pinned behind her and the other one flailed wildly at random people.

Her fist hit something soft and there was a cry of pain. Mia whimpered, clutching her chest. Raynia was horrified. She pushed her way through the wall of teens and rushed to her locker.

She had just hit Mia on her boob. Oh my gosh. She's going to kill me.

She exchanged her books and slammed her locker shut, hurrying down the hallway to her first class. She didn't dare look back at the disapproving eyes that would surely be staring back at her.

She sat down at her desk with her head lowered. Surely everyone would know soon that Raynia, the nerd, had hit famous cheerleader Mia, on her boob.

On the freaking boob!

Next she would be labeled a lesbian. She might as well add that to the list of names she was already called.

She couldn't help it that she found her comfort in school assignments. If others enjoyed bullying her, and it brought them happiness, then good for them. But she found her happiness in numbers and words and she didn't see the need for rudeness just because she liked something.

Taylor and her sidekick Janie walked into the room, giggling. Raynia caught the whispered words 'huge' and 'the best.' She blushed; again. She was sensitive to those things. Girls shouldn't walk around discussing boys, well, private parts.

But obviously it kept their mind off Raynia's 'mishap' so it was okay.

She arranged her notebooks and colored gel pens on her desk. She always wrote the things down her teacher said, sometimes simply out of boredom from the teachers droning voice. But most times she did it because she wanted to remember everything.

Mrs Finnley passed out yesterday's math test results. Raynia sat up straighter.

100% was written in big red letters at the top. She smiled to herself and stuck the paper into her folder.

She would take it home to her parents. They loved displaying her test papers on the living room.
