"Layas!"
I put down my game console when I heard mommy shut the door. I went out of the entertainment room and saw mommy standing behind the door. And dad? He's been kicked out of the house yet again. I guess she's fed up again.
I went upstairs just as dad starts with his lines. "Baby," He calls mom 'baby' whenever he's in trouble. "Sorry na. Hindi ko na uulitin. Promise! Patawarin mo na ako. Last na 'yun. I'm sorry, baby. I love you..." Yeah, right, dad.
"Talaga lang, Jeric ha. Pwede ba? Ilang beses ko na narinig yan. Wala ka na bang ibang alam sabihin?" If I'm used to dad's lines, sanay na rin ako sa mga sinasabi ni mommy kay daddy. She doesn't believe in anything dad says.
I went to their room and took the house keys. If dad couldn't convince mom to open the door, he'll ask for the house keys. I went in to my room, stood beside the window, looked down and saw dad pleading.
"Baby, please. Sorry na. Bati na tayo." Sigh. Where did my know-his-way-to-mommy's-heart dad go? Mommy won't open the door just because of his 'baby's' and 'sorry's'. Not even his 'I love you's'. She thinks all his words are fake.
"Umalis ka na, Jeric. Don't worry. Aalagaan kong mabuti si Jeremy."
Mom shouldn't have used my name. Naalala tuloy ako ni daddy.
He stepped back from the door. He looked up and saw me. He gave me that give-me-the-keys look. See, mom?
Because he's my dad, I threw the house keys. Dad picked them up the ground. "Ayaw mong buksan ha." He said before opening the door.
I went out of my room and went down. Mommy will be mad. For sure.
"Paano ka nakapasok?" Mommy asked when dad went in. She looked at me. She's mad. I can tell. She turned to dad. "Labas. Umalis ka na. Ayaw na kita makita. Ayaw na kita makasama." She's pushing dad out again.
"Bahay ko 'to." Dad pushed her away. "Bakit aalis ako sa sarili kong bahay?"
And they are at it again. Shouting at each other. Arguing.
"Pero ayaw na kitang makasama." Mommy said.
"Eh di ikaw ang umalis."
With dad's tone, I don't think this argument will end before dinner. Time to call for help. I took my phone out and dialed Mommy Susan's number.
"Excuse me! Bahay ko 'to!"
"Excuse me! Bahay ko din 'to. This is conjugal. Remember?"
"Hello? Jeremy?" Mommy Susan answered.
"Hello? Mommy Susan? I need your help."
"Is there something wrong?" Mommy Susan asked.
"Mmm... Mommy and daddy are fighting. Again."
"I'm on my way. Look after them. Make sure no one will get hurt. Okay?"
"Okay, Mommy Susan."
I hung up and continued watching my parents as they continue arguing.
"Nakakainis ka talaga! Bakit ba ikaw ang naging asawa ko? Bakit kailangan pa kitang makasama sa iisang bahay?!!" Mommy screamed.
"Ah, ayaw mo akong makasama?" Dad stood beside the door and opened it wide. "As you can see, maluwag ang pinto. Makakaalis ka na, baby."
